~ Nash's POV ~ (1 hour later)
"Oh my gosh that's disgusting!" Jess screeched, as Matt shot Coke out of his nose, laughing at the her reaction. We were all outside; Matt, Jessica, Cameron, and I were sitting at the little bar gazebo eating chips, Cameron intently staring at the TV screen, which was playing some recent game of football. Hayes and Skyler were facing off in pool basketball, and they were both failing miserably.
Skyler had changed. She had died her hair a darker shade of brown, maybe changed what she wore, but she was still the same girl I had loved since 7th grade. She thought we didn't recognize her... And to be honest, I doubt Matt and Cam had. Hayes never knew her anyway, he was a year younger than me, and he had gone to a different high school than us. I was a fücking idiot for ever hurting her... I liked her the whole time. I liked her a lot. None of the other guys knew. We had all changed since high school. But I don't know if I had ever stopped loving Skyler, because it hurt to see the way she looked at Hayes. Her eyes were perfect an--
"Nash, Nash--TRASHNASH," Hayes was waving his hand in my face.
"What?" I groaned.
"Aaron just texted. I guess all the guys had their phones or whatever plugged in all at once, and they blew the power out." Hayes seemed to think it was sort of funny.
I just groaned again, "I'm not going home to no electricity."
"We already talked about it, Sky and Jess said we could stay over." He smiled broadly.
"Okay," I said. Though seeing him and Skyler get all 'cute' with each other was not what I had planned to spend this night doing, I was glad to have some place to stay.
"Aaron and them are gonna stay at Taylor's friend's house. Anyway, get up." Hayes told me, the lights around the pool glimmering through the darkness of the night, and I stood, following Hayes towards the house.
