There was no smell of rot in this cave. Things oozed and trickled. Stalagmites stuck out at odd angles, cutting the air.
She couldn't see them.
She was wet.
She was cold.
She was not prepared.
She heard Arlene from somewhere in the distance. She was calling her name. She found fond memories of Arlene and she held on to them as she slipped.
The moss reverberated with alien colour.
Something boomed in the deep.
