A NOTE ON EDITING: Welcome to The Queen of Cats. Before you begin, a disclaimer. This book is currently being edited. So there are going to be some inconsistencies and plot holes. Nothing deal breaking, just a few little things. If that sort of thing bothers you, I suggest you wait a while before getting started on this book.

If you're okay with that, please enjoy your time here.

Dear Reader,

Firstly, thank you for choosing this particular book. I'm sure most of you know that writing is a difficult task. While it comes easy to some people, the majority of of us struggle to fill up the empty page.

If you enjoy weird, surreal fiction, you will enjoy this book. If you like cats, you  will like this book. If you like music, you might like this book (no promises). If you think about it like that, if you like flowers or fashion videos on YouTube or even if you like death metal, you just might like this book. I have no way of knowing because I don't know you.

I am not editing this book (except maybe to maintain consistency within the plot) so I am relying very much on your feedback. If you really, really love this book (I wish) then please leave a comment saying so. If you think this is the worst book you have ever read in your life (I hope not), again, leave a comment. If your emotions lie somewhere in between, leave a comment telling me what you think. I will try to fix what I can.

This list of acknowledgements is rather short now but that's because I'm only about three chapters in.

Super big hug to @inhalingsarcasm for designing the new cover. Doesn't it look amazing?

An amazingly huge thanks to lizzie (TheOneWithABadName) for creating the previous cover. She really is phenomenal. Just....just look at it!

A huge thanks to Christina (donutinaa) for designing the first cover for this book. She very graciously made some changes to the initial cover when I asked her to. She is also quite a talented writer.

An equally huge thanks to all the various writers I've filched from and am going to filch from as I write this strange book. I don't think I can possibly name them all, but here are some of the primary influences: China Mieville, H. P. Lovecraft, William Hope Hodgson,  Haruki Murakami, C.S. Lewis, John C. Wright and last but certainly not least, Catherynne M. Valente.

And of course, thank you, dear reader, for taking the time to read this book. Write a comment, if you can. Give it a vote if you like it. It won't cost you a penny but it would mean the world to me.

A Writer Entirely At Your Service,

David V. M.
