Chapter 39: Acting Weird

Kate's POV

"Baby.." Kenneth called me. We are inside his office. I mean, our office pala since dito naman muna ako mag i stay for a few weeks or months rather.

  "Hmm.?" I answered habang patuloy lang sa pagrereview ng isang marketing plan na isinubmit. Actually, revised version na ito ng marketing plan na isinubmit last week.

"Come here for a while." sabi niya pa.

Nilingon ko siya.

     "Why?" naguguluhang tanong ko. Why would he tell me to come over to him? I mean, what does he need as of now? Like, we are in the middle of tons of work here.

"Aish. Nakakunot na naman ang noon mo. Don't fright nga." he said while walking towards my direction.

    As he got in front of me, he bent a little para magkapantay ang mga mukha namin.

He massaged my forehead.

"Come on, Baby. Don't stress yourself too much, huh? Relax. Our business partner won't dare to cancel the partnership. In fact, it gives them more benefits." he said then smiled.

He's right. At some point nga naman, I should not be too much into it since wala namang nagsasabing bilisan na ito.

   I simply nodded and smiled.

"Good. Now, take my hand and stand up for a while." sabi niya as he offers his hand after niyang tumayo ng maayos.

    I took his hand confusedly. Like, okay? What's happening?

After that, nang makatayo na ako, he sat down on my chair. Like, siomai.

"And wow. You asked for me to stand para ikaw naman ang umupo?" I said as I pouted.

He chuckled before he replied saying,

    "Naah~ Sit here."

I confusedly look at him. Pinaglololoko niya ba ako? Saan naman ako uupo diyan?

   "Tss. You're beautiful yet slow, Baby. Here. Sit here."

Sabi niya as he patted his lap.

    Namula naman ako. Ang reason? I honestly do not know. It could be because he said I'm pretty. Or it could also be because he wants me to sit on his lap. Or maybe, both?

Before I could say a word, hinila na niya ako. So, naka upo na ako sa lap niya while my back is leaning on his broad shoulders.

    It felt just so great but I felt my cheeks turned red. Mali, mas pumula pa pala. Aish!

He wrapped his arms on my stomach.

    "You blushed again. You became even more beautiful, Baby." malambing na sabi niya and kissed my cheek.

Actually, right at this moment, everything felt so so right. Sitting here while he's hugging me -- it's something that I will never forget. Never ever. I don't know. This is just a simple position, this is just a normal day. But the fact that he is the one who's with me, it makes this moment, this very day, more than special.
