My head felt tight, too tight.

A scream hit my ears. A scream so loud I could swear my ears were going to bleed. My hands shot to my ears, but that didn't muffle the sound at all. Grayson had the car pulled over and parked incredibly fast.

"What's wrong?" He asked desperate. "Why are you screaming?"

The scream I heard was mine. My hands went to my mouth to cover the sound. My head was pounding stronger and stronder with the building pressure. Throbbing pain racked my skull. I couldn't even think the pain was so intense.

"My head." I managed to choke out.

Grayson shook his head as he looked at me. "What's wrong with it?"

The tears rushed out of my eyes. He flipped open his phone as I cried. I held his hand as he talked to Conner. I kept crying. I let out screams.

"Say what?" A horrifying scream left my mouth as the pressure peaked. Grayson cringed. His ears were much more sensitive than mine. His ears probably were bleeding. Mid thought, it all went black.

When I woke up, I was sedated, heavily sedated by the severe cotton mouth I had. Grayson was on the bed, propped up with black circles under his eyes. How long was I out for?

My back cracked loud when I stretched. There was a quick intake of break when the cracks echoed through the quiet room. I woke Grayson from, what was probably, the only sleep he's gotten in days. Crap.

"You're awake." He sounded happy.  I nodded. His smile grew as he bent down to kiss me. "There's some complicating news." I shrugged, unable to speak. I really didn't care about any new right now. All I cared about was getting some water. He grabbed a cup full of water and shook it slightly. I could hear the ice hitting the glass. "Sit up."

I did, quickly. I practically tore the water from his hand.

"Trevor's dead." Half the water in the cup ended up all over me. He hadn't even eased into it.

"What?!" I tried to ask, but an unintelligible word escaped my numb mouth.

Grayson nodded, his eyes looked very troubled, "Around the time when you had that...episode. That's what Conner thinks anyway." I couldn't believe it. Trevor was dead. "Conner's the new alpha now. It puts us all in danger now." He ran his hand through my hair. "How are you feeling?"

"Sleepy."

He smiled and agreed. We both ended up asleep a few minutes later.

A growl woke me up. I quickly propped myself up on my elbows. It wasn't a werewolf I was familiar with...which was very bad news.

So I did what I knew was my only option. I screamed for Grayson. The wolf lowered itself to the ground before launching itself at me. I put my hands in front of my body in some sort of defense. The wolf stopped mid-air, frozen. He couldn't even move his eyes
