inspired by ulotrichous's book the ugly ones.

break. stereotypes.

A/N Haven't written in a long time, so quite frankly this isn't my best.

The Ugly Ones (i)

we are the ugly ones, aren't we?

because i chose to be different,

i chose to stand out,

i chose something more than

dating and fashion and social media.

and because i am different,

i am ugly.

i am an abomination.

we are the ugly ones, aren't we?

because i'm blonde,

and blondes aren't good at anything

except for a quick fling.

and the only thing i can be

is someone pretty and dumb

and more desirable

and less intelligent.

i am still one of the ugly ones,

encased in my dumb blonde skin.

we are the ugly ones, aren't we?

because i'm fat,

and i can't help it

if i just eat when i'm hungry.

and because i eat so i don't die

i am lower than skinny people,

and downgraded in value.

i am human if i am fat,

aren't i? but no.

i am fat,

so i am ugly.

we are the ugly ones, aren't we?

they call me a born

thief, robber, criminal, murderer

when i all did

was to steal this black body,

this black skin, this black head,

this black life hundreds of years ago

from my master.

and i see those stares,

marking me as ugly,

a thing that should be returned to Master.

we are the ugly ones, aren't we?

because love knows

no boundaries,

love knows no barriers,

and we have no choice,

(but everyone thinks it's my

choice.)

i may be gay,

but i deserve to be happy

like everyone else.

can i finally have a choice

when deciding my life?

can i be happy?

is it my turn yet?

no, ugly one, until you can fix yourself,

you disgusting, vile trash,

you don't deserve happiness.

we are the ugly ones, aren't we?

this face, covered in red welts

and caked in too much makeup.

this acne-ravaged face,

look at that war zone there.

what an ugly thing,

she really would be something if

she could get rid of that plague

on her face.

we are the ugly ones, aren't we?

you see these glasses,

you see these small Asian eyes,

and can you see anything,

you blind thing,

can you see anything?

and you see this pee-colored skin

and black hair and small eyes

and i know.

i'm an Asian.

i can't be athletic.

i can only be smart,

and good at studies;

you nerd, you four-eyed,

pee-skinned, small-eyed ugly thing,

hurry up and be my walking dictionary.

we are the ugly ones, aren't we?

we are the ugly ones,

and if you are different,

if you aren't like the crowd,

come join us.

we're called the ugly ones.

because if you're different,

you're ugly.

A/N

Okay, so I was hard-pressed for time, so I didn't get to all the stereotypes and injustices I wanted to. So don't worry, there will be the The Ugly Ones (ii), where I will get to more of them. Hopefully I did justice to the people who suffer from these stereotypes / injustices.

And no. You are not ugly. You're beautiful.

:)
