AN: I got a little bit bored of waiting for the votes so here's the last chapter, sorry it's so long I got a little bit carried away.

I was sat at the table when it happened, I was alone again as per usual since my dad had this time gone to Newcastle to see if there were any job opening in a school down there, he hadn’t been very successful in Rochdale apparently. I was sat texting my friend who I knew from my school before Waterloo Road when there was a knock at the door, I quickly finished my toast before running to the door. I flung the door open and quickly looked out and sighed when I realised nobody was there until “Mama” I stumbled back a little as the little girl with short blonde curly hair smiled up at me. “A-Ashleigh” I stammered “Yesh” the little girl said, it was only then that I realised. It was nearly her third birthday. I quickly picked her up and went to the end of the path to see if I could see the person who’d left her on my doorstep but sighed when there was nobody. I quickly went back inside, grabbed my phone and bag and ran out the house, locking the door as I went with my daughter in my arms. I ran round to the only house I knew I could go to “Kaitlin?” Christine asked as she answered the door, her eyes widened when she saw the child in my arms. “What are you? What?” Christine asked, looking form the girl to me “Come inside” Christine said and stepped back, allowing me entrance. I put Ashleigh down on the floor but she stayed by my legs as I walked through into the kitchen, “Who is she?” Christine asked as I sat down, Ashleigh on my knee “She’s my daughter…she was taken away from me just before her first birthday. Before I moved to Waterloo Road back in Rochdale” I explained as Christine did us both a cup of tea “And why is she here, Kaitlin? How did she get here?” she asked, putting the mug in front of me “I don’t know, Christine, I really don’t know, the social don’t know my new address, they knew that I moved but they didn’t know the address” I said, I looked at Christine then down at my daughter as I started to cry. “What am I going to do, Christine? Waterloo Road had been a fresh start away from my past, away from the memory of

Ashleigh” I said, she’d gotten pretty restless as I was holding her so I put her down on the floor, Christine quickly grabbed something for her to play with and she sat quietly on the kitchen floor. “Hey, don’t cry, Kaitlin, we’ll sort this out okay?” Christine said, I just nodded and took a sip of my tea “But for now, grab your bag and Ashleigh and I’ll drive you into school” Christine said, I quickly finished my tea before getting down off the chair. I put my bag on my shoulder and picked up Ashleigh “Connor, you’ll have to make your own way into school” Christine shouted as we went past, I heard him shout back but didn’t hear what he said as I was outside when he did, I got into the passenger seat of Christine’s car and we had a silent car journey into school.

“Right go up to my office, I need to talk to the staff and then I’ll come up with Tom okay” Christine said, I just nodded and walked through the corridor up the stairs and to the reception, I sighed before walking into my dad’s now Christine’s office. “Okay madam, it’s going to take some getting used to. For both me and you but for now you just sit there and I’ll erm I’ll find you something to play with” I said to Ashleigh as I sat her down on the floor, I walked over to the filing cabinet and quickly rummaged through it until I found a pile of pots in the bottom drawer, I pulled it out and passed them to Ashleigh as I sat down on the sofa in the office. I smiled a little as I watched my daughter playing; I was sat there for a good 5 minutes until the office door opened “Kaitlin…And this must be Ashleigh” Tom said as he walked into the office, Tom came over and sat down on the sofa beside me “Right, Kaitlin. I need you to listen to me carefully; me and Christine will be here to support you through this. I think that for today it would be best if you stayed with me as I have free periods all day, we can find some toys for her to play with and you can both stay in my classroom until we sort out what will happen” Tom said, I looked over at Ashleigh and nodded then smiled “Thank you, sir, it really means a lot” I said then hugged him tight. “You just stay in here for now, I’ll go and look for some toys for this little cutie and then we’ll go to my classroom okay” Tom said, I nodded and watched him walk out “I’ll tell you now but Barry’s coming into my office this morning so if you want to go just tell me” Christine said, she sat down on the sofa where Tom had been and looked at Ashleigh “No, I’ll have to face him eventually, he knows about Ashleigh anyway, I told him last week” I admitted, Christine nodded, still watching Ashleigh. “She looks like you a lot, minus the hair” Christine said, I smiled a little “Hum I don’t really know where she’s got the hair from to be honest, her dad’s got dark hair too” I said, Christine laughed a little then we both looked up when the office door opened. “Kaitlin?!” Barry asked when he saw me then the girl on the floor “Barry, this is Ashleigh, my daughter” I said, Ashleigh looked up from her toys and scurried over to me when she noticed Barry “Ashleigh, this is mummy’s boyfriend” I said to my daughter but she turned away and hid her face. I could tell Barry was speechless and apparently so could Christine as she motioned Barry to sit down. “Miss Boston’s given me the PRU results for this year” Christine said and I looked up, wondering what the conversation was about “So this is a bust” Barry said, putting one leg on top of the other as he glanced over at me then back at Christine. “On the contrary, she thinks you’ve worked very hard” Christine said, I smiled a
