Colours of War

When you see around you,

The green, the brown, the black,

Then you'll know for certain,

That I'm never coming back,

When you see the cloudy grey,

of the morning sky,

Then you will understand,

Just why I said Goodbye.

When you see the hint of blue,

That comes when sun is there,

Just think of me in the front line,

Where I don't have time to care.

When you see the rosy pink,

That heralds the come of night,

Think of me out in the mud,

Still fighting for my life.

Think of me out there,

In the mud and dirt,

Fighting for my country,

One man against the world.
