The bird

The bird takes off

Water droplets fall from her wings

I imagine her flying many miles

Whatever the weather may bring

The sun shines on her feathers

Colouring them gold

Catches her eyes

That are not warm but cold

I imagine her heart beating

In rhythm with her wings

And then she's gone

Gone with the wind
