"One banana split with extra strawberry syrup, strawberries, and chocolate chips and one sundae with graham crackers and marshmallow," Niall told the bored looking woman at the counter of the small ice cresm parlour.

I have yet to figure out how he had convinced me to come here, it was just something about the way he looked at me. It was different than with Louis, it was real. It was almost as if he had gotten into my head. Whatever it was, it had me hooked.

"That'll be seven thirty-nine."

Niall's wide eyes found mine and he gave me a worried expression. The blueness of his eyes contracted to the red-and-white checkered pattern in the parlour, making them pop. "Erm, give us one sec, please."

"Niall, what are you - ?"

The unnaturally blonde boy grabbed my shoulders harshly and pulled me away from the counter, where the cashier was waiting to take our money and give us our delicious looking ice creams. My breath was swiped away from me as Niall pushed me, my eyes wide.

"Small problem," Niall said, his hands pinning my shoulders in place. "I don't have money... Well, American money."

"What?!"

"Could you please just pay this one time? I'll pay you back, I promise. Or I'll let Louis beat me up for taking advantage of his baby sister. Please?" Niall begged me, his eyes wider than ever. I couldn't help but notice how his eyes were so clear, I could see my reflection perfectly in them.

"You're terrible at trying to 'blend in', you know?" I said, placing my hands on his chest and pushing him aside to get back to the counter. I pulled out my wallet from the side pocket of my school bag and gave the annoyed cashier the money for our nearly melting ice creams.

I handed Niall his banana split before stepping past him and towards a booth in the middle of the parlour.

"You know, a thank you would be greatly appreciated," I mentioned sarcastically, sliding my butt into this side of the booth.

Niall gave me a stern look. "I was getting there."

"Mhm..." I immediantly began stuffing my face with this sweet, milky substance. Ice cream was definitely one of my guilty pleasures, especially with graham cracker crumbs and marshmallow. Niall and I were more than halfway finished with our large bowls of milky wonder before he decided to speak to me.

I wondered why he even asked to take me here. I had hardly ever spoken to him before this, and when I did, I was incredibly rude. In retrospect, I should have been nice. Niall was only trying to make me feel better about everything and I responded with attitude and slammed the door in his face.

"So, Aubrey... Tell me about yourself," Niall said suddenly.

I glanced away from the table and up at him. "Why?"

"Well, I'd like to know who I'm gonna spend the next few months of my life with," Niall explained, rolling his eyes lightly at me. Well, if that was the case, then why not? Once again, Niall was only being nice and I wasn't.

"What do you want to know?" I asked.

Niall shrugged, sucking on his spoon. "Everything."

Everything? Niall was the first person to ever want to know something about me. Not even Paige seemed to care this much. Why, though? Why did Niall want to know me?

"Uh... Well, my name is Aubrey. I hate the color pink with a passion. Grape-flavored anything makes me sick. I have a phobia of eighteen wheelers. I've always wanted a Yorkshire Terrior and - wait, why am I telling you this?"
