I didn't answer in my current state of shock. In fact my ears were ringing before I finally realized that something was happening and snapped out of it. The bus had stopped. I could hear everyone talking and everyone was standing to get a better look out the front window.

"What's that?" Luke asked me.

I gulped, "A truck?"

"Well why did it swerve in front of us like that? We could have crashed."

My stomach dropped as I thought to myself, "Once you see who's in there, you're going to wish that a crash was all we've got to worry about." Luke and I stared out our window as the Maniax hopped down from the truck. Jerome was really enjoying himself. He did a theatrical twirl and then stopped to tap the end of his gun against the bus window, then gestured down to himself grinning. All the girls screamed in terror as they recognized him.

"Those are the guys from the news!" Luke realized with a gasp.

It was then that Aaron busted open the bus door and ripped the old bus driver out of his seat, poor guy. Jerome and Greenwood entered next, both of them smiling at the terrified students. No one was standing anymore, in fact they were all nervously pressed against their seats waiting. Jerome laughed at their faces. "HellooO everyone! How are we all doing today?" He called out enthusiastically as Greenwood began to chain the students to the bus seats. No one dared make a sound of course though. Jerome chuckled, "Tough crowd. We'll just have to heat things up a bit." Then he began to walk around locking more peoples hands, and generally doing his best to scare every kid he walked past.

I watched dreadfully as Jerome slowly made his way closer to the back of the bus. And again I felt terrible that Luke had to be a part of this. I looked over to see him anxiously watching Jerome as well. But it was odd, he didn't seem to have the same look of fear upon his face as the rest of them. He looked more... focused, and ready to act. Which I knew could not be good. He noticed me watching and looked at me from the corner of his eyes.

"Luke." I whispered, hardly audible.

"What is it Eden?" He answered just as quietly.

"Whatever it is you're thinking. Don't do it. I can tell you're planning something, and whatever it is-trust me it won't end well." I noticed a serious edge to my tone that wasn't there before. But Luke didn't reply. Instead he continued to stare ahead, but he laid his warm hand atop of mine reassuringly.

Oh no, he's going to get himself killed.
