Chapter 8

“The Essay must be handed in by the end of tomorrow, if it’s to be late then I won’t accept it,” our history teacher explained.

The bell rang just as she finished explaining; I grabbed my bag and waited for Ty to finish packing.

“I know that you’re going to say no, but I’m still going to ask” I said “Do you want to hang out today?”

He looked at me for a moment, I sighed I knew it. This is just great, another day, another rejection, and another disappointing day.

“I’m really sorry Callie, but my schedule is really hectic right now. I promise that when things are all sorted out, you’re the first person I’m going to when I want to hang out,” he smiled and looked at me apologetically.

I made a long sigh, and smiled at him “Ok, it’s cool. Sorry I’m annoying you and all, I’m looking forwards to that day though.”

I made my way to the door and leaned on it. I’m sure this time, something was not right. It was already five minutes since Ty walked out of the school, I could still catch up to him.

Time to do some spying, I ran outside and saw my driver on the front of the school. I told him to go on without me, I gave him my bag and went to the direction Ty went. After a couple minutes of sprinting, I finally found him in front of an unfamiliar building. I’ve been living in this town since birth and I never seen this building before.

“What is he up to?” I mumble to myself

Good thing I brought my hoodie, I need to cover up just in case. I put on the hood of my jacket and hid behind the garbage bin. I looked back at Ty, he was now talking to this guy who was wearing a lab coat. I tried listening to their conversation but they were talking too quietly. They looked around to see if anyone was looking, this is quite suspicious. Ty went inside following the man in the lab coat. I waited for a couple of minutes before charging in the front door, when I got shook the handle it was open.

“I’m going to get in so much trouble for this,” I said to myself.

Hmm this place looks familiar, what is it? It’s on the tip of my tongue. Why can’t I get it?  I walked down the hallway filled with paintings and benches. Now where did they go? I made a turn at the end of the hallway and found a door slightly open. I leaned my ear to it and listened.

“Ugh,” I heard moaning sound.
