Chapter 19

" Anna, I'll see you tomorrow then! " Josh waved and smiled.

" Alright. See you! "

    Josh was the man who guided me through everything and it was all so new to me. Well, I have never actually had to work before. Now, everything's changed for me. I need to be the one who takes care of my dad and lessen Aunt Mary's burden. I know she has been struggling to pay for the bills as well and I just can't bear to see her go through these alone. Working at Coffee Amo is a really good experience for me and I love it here. Josh, Ella (another worker) and Augustus treat me like their own friends and I'm truly grateful for that.

I haven't seen Colton in a week. I felt like a part of me died inside because he just disappeared like that after I left him at the hospital rooftop. But then at the very same time, I am relieved because I do not have to see Colton's grandpa hurting anyone close to me anymore. I know he would go all the way just to break us up. People say, it takes time to heal a broken heart but I don't think mine has the ability to do that. As for now, I'm only hoping that all the chemo treatments would work on my dad and he would go back to living his normal lifestyle again. It hurts to see him suffer.

" Anna, why are you still here? " Augustus said, frowning which almost made me burst out laughing. He always does this weird and cute 'frown' when something does not go his ways. Wait, did I just say cute? Damn. Must have been Quinn. She has been going on and on about how cute Augustus is. I think it's weird, considering that Augustus is her boyfriend's brother.

" I'm just gonna clean this place up a little and I'll head home. " I brushed a strain of my hair to the back of my ear and smiled.

" Oh please, you can always do that tomorrow. Come, I'll take you home now. It's late and a gorgeous woman like you should not be walking home alone. " He said bluntly. My jaw dropped slightly because... did he just tell me I'm gorgeous?

" Oh thank you. " I mumbled because I did not know what else to say. Well, you don't always get handsome guys coming up to you and telling you you're gorgeous now, do you? Let alone your boss.

" So where do you live? " Augustus asked as he opened the café door for me. I was about to reply when somebody interrupted us.

" Anna? " Colton was standing there with a bouquet of flowers in his hands, looking dumbfounded. He looked just as good looking as the first day I saw him.

" Colton, what are you doing here? " I said nervously. I didn't know what to say. I did not expect to see him here after what happened at the rooftop. I expect him to hate me and never want to see me again. Augustus turned to look at me with the 'who-the-hell-is-this-guy' face.

" Can you give me a minute? Just a minute. " I squeezed his arm tightly. Augustus nodded reluctantly and walked to his Porsche.

" What are you doing here, Colton? " I approached Colton and asked him harshly. He's not supposed to be here. What if his grandpa sees it and thinks that we're still contacting each other?

" You don't think I would give up so easily, do you? " Colton smirked. " And who is that guy? " He turned back and glared at Augustus.

" That is my boss you're glaring at. " I glared back at him. " Colton, I thought I made it crystal clear that I'm done with you? "

" Oh Anna, I'm not deaf. I heard what you said to me the other day. " He said coldly and took a step forward as I backed away a little.

" You're done with me but I'm not, love. " He smirked. "     And I'm gonna make it crystal clear to you as well, that I'm not letting you go. Not when I finally found you, Anna. " One minute he's smirking like a devil, another minute he's smiling like an innocent child. I don't like this at all. This is not the outcome that I expected. I inhaled deeply as he stared at me with that longing eyes.
