Friday 6:30 am

Office. 24th floor

Days went fast and comes Friday.

I will miss this office. Though it's a bit crowded but my friends are here. I look at Lexie's' desk. We have had a lot of gossip-whoring there. We shared sad moments and happy talks. I will miss my desk too. I know it isn't much but it’s the first desk I had after college. I shouldn't be sad about this transfer. I brought this to myself. The past 3 days was a hell-of-a-ride too. I mean that literally. I tried not to be late every day! Like, so hard and if I’ll continue that on my next job, maybe I’ll be a top employee again.

I let out a long sigh. I even wasted a promotion because of Lates. I grab an empty box under my table so I can box the things that I don't need for now and transfer it to the 22nd floor by batches so I won't feel leaving this place. It took 2 small boxes for my things. All I have in my desk now is my laptop, desk-phone and my bag. I left one picture of me and Lexie still pinned on the wall. It was taken at last year’s Christmas party. It was a blast!

I look up at the wall clock. 10 minutes to 7am. Lexie should be here by now. I started counting the seconds. 10..9..8..7..6..5... Someone badge her ID and I saw Lexie emerged thru the glass door.

"Just in time!" I called her attention.

"Sam?!" She looked surprised. "I thought you're on the dot again." She said.

"Why do I get the feeling that you're expecting me to be late?" I hugged her.

"So this is it. Your last day in this floor." She said after we let each other go.

"Yeah. It is." I said and I walk her to her desk.

"Oh, don't be sad. It's not like we will not see each other anymore. We're still in the same building. We will meet every lunch break." She said while setting up her computer.

"Yeah, that's how it's gonna be." I said while pulling the chair from the desk behind her.

"So you're gonna sit at Mrs. Schmit's chair now? Mind you, her habit is poking her nose." Seriously looking at me.

"Ewwwwwww" We both scream and laugh after. "See? There's a Bogart under her arm-rest."

"That's disgusting!" I fidgeted. I decided to switch my chair across Lixie's desk. It's Mr. Schomacker's chair.

He's one of the many dearest friends I have on this floor. Most of them were old people. For some sad reason, they always remind me of dad. How they looked. How they advised me. How they made me laugh. Most of all, how they cared about me. Each one of them has a characteristic that made me miss my dad.

"Come here." Lexie pulled my chair closer. "I'll do your make up." I can see her excitement.

"I've been dying to try this make up you since last night." She said.

"Okay." I just agreed since it's my last day in this floor. I normally turn down the offer. Most of Lexie's look in putting make up is too much for me. Don't get me wrong it always fit her. Most of all, It does make her look prettier.

"Good!" She said this in somewhat unbelievable look but she carry-on. All her makeup kit is already at the top of her desk.
