Chapter 26: Daddy

Skie's point of view

Habang nakatayo ako sa locker ko, hindi ko maiwasan na mapatingin sa locker ni Angel. It's been a week that I'm avoiding her and it just makes me think of her more. I don't know why I'm feeling this way. One day I'm mad at her, the next day I'not then I'll be mad again and now all of a sudden I wanted to be friends with her. This is driving me crazy.

"Hey," niyakap ako ni Anya mula sa likod ko. "Do you want to hang out tonight? It's been awhile since.. you know." humarap ako sakanya at hinawakan ko ang kamay niya. Mukhang nakuha niya agad kung anong gusto kong sabohin. "Babe, I miss our good times. Our drinking session, us enjoying the party, making the most of our nights. Don't you miss it?" umiwas ako ng tingin sakanya. The truth is, I miss Anya but I don't miss the good times she's telling me. Ilang linggo na akong hindi umiinom at pumupunta sa mgaparties.

"Babe, we have exams tomorrow. We need to study. Why don't you just go our house and we can study together." I smiled at her, hoping she'll say yes but she did not. "Babe, there's a lot of time for parties."

"You changed a lot.. Where's the rebel Skie I know? Where's Skie that knows how to have fun? I missed that Skie.."

"We only have two semesters and we need to focus. Babe, you need to think of your priorities." Hinila ko siya papalapit sakin. I looked at her straight into her eyes. "Ilang taon na lang, aayain na kitang magpakasal at gusto ko sa panahon na 'yon, pareho na tayong matured. Hinay hinay na sa mga parties, okay?" She just rolled her eyes but she smiled.

"Para akong bata na pinagsasabihan ng tatay niya," tumawa siya at niyakap niya ako. "Pero ayos lang. Mas gusto ko na nagiging strict ka sakin. Mas gusto ko na ikaw 'yong nag ko-kontrol sakin. Wag ka mag alala babe, babawasan ko na ang pag punta ko sa mga parties, okay? I don't you to be mad at me. I love you so much." lumapit siya sakin at tinulak niya ako sa locker ko.  Inangat niya ang ulo niya at hinalikan niya ako. I kiss her back. The truth is I miss her. The old Anya I know. She always prefers to be with me rather that going to any parties. I'm not the only one who changed. "I'll just go to Enzo's party later then that's it. I'll just study tomorrow morning. I'll go to your house, okay?"

"Okay babe. I love you." Niyakap niya ako bago siya umalis.

Nanlaki ang mata ko ng makita ko si Angel. Nakatayo lang siya at nakatingin sakin. Kanina pa ba siya nandyan? Nakita niya ba kami ni Anya na naghahalikan? Umiwas na lang ako ng tingin sakanya. Nagkunwari akong may inaayos sa locker ko. Naglakad siya papalapit sakin pagkatapos binuksan niya 'yong locker niya. Pinipigilan ko 'yong sarili ko na kausapin siya. Gusto kong irespeto 'yong desisyon niya at ayoko din naman suwayin si Anya. Sinara ko ang locker ko at naglakad na ako palayo. Pumunta ako sa field kung saan naghihintay sila Caleb. Mukhang may pinag uusapan silang importante.

"What's up?" bungad ko. "What are you guys up to?"

"Good timing, Skie. Our friend here is planning something romantic." Lumapit si Enzo kay Caleb tska siya umakbay.

"Tomorrow, he's going to ask Angel to be his girlfriend. Our friend is really in love."

"What do you think, Skie?" tanong sakin ni Caleb. Umupo ako sa tabi ni Luke. Napatingin ako sa malayo. Why do I have this weird feeling? "Will she say yes?"

"Yeah, of course." Sagot ko. "I think she liked you too but are you really sure about your feelings for her?" napatingin silang lahat sakin. "I mean, tinapos na natin ang plan at hindi mo na kailangan na gawin 'to, na pasagutin pa si Angel." Nagtinginan silang tatlo. May nasabi ba akongmasama?

"Skie, it's not about the plan anymore. I love her and that's the truth. I know it all started as a lie but I'm now really in love with her and the three of you know that this is the first time I became serious for a girl." I know him so well and he's right, he really love Angel. What am I thinking? "Do you still have issues with that?"
