chapter 24

I didn't answer the Doctor, just stared at nothing. "Lena?" He asked again.

"Oh... um... I don't remember anything after we were taken," I lied. If my parents knew, just if. My life is already complicated.

"Oh come on Lena!"

"I said I don't remember Dad! All I remember was walking to Lyndon with Anton and being taken, okay? I'm telling the truth!" No I wasn't.

"Okay... Well good news is you'll be able to leave in the morning, we'll give you some meds for the bruising and pain, try to get as much rest as you can. As for Anton..." He looked at my parents, "We'll have to keep him the next two days just to make sure we know the healing process starts, which I'm sure it will, and to also ask him if he can remember anything. I do recommend some therapy maybe if you're children are feel... lets say down, but to also help them remember." Well I do remember, just never ever telling my parents that their dead son was in a gang and caused all this bullshit and then we were taken got beat up, almost got raped, Anton was bashed, Talen was bashed, for f*ck sake I was bashed.

The Doctor left.

"I want to see Talen."

My Dad sighed, "Can you walk?"

"Will you help me?" I snapped.

"Yes." He lifted the covers up and stared at my legs, when I wondered what he was looking at I looked to. You couldn't even see my skin, well you could, it was just purple.

"I'm fine Dad, just help me."

He slowly helped me out of the bed and to my feet, revealing the big gashes and wounds bandaged around my leg, it wasn't pretty.

It was hard to walk, but it was worth it for Talen.

"He's in here," My Dad said as we reached the room next to us, "Thanks Dad." His arm was linked through mine and he was carrying all my weight. He felt bad for grabbing me, I can understand him though.

I smiled at Talen when I saw him, he smiled back. Dad sat my down on the chair next to his bed and left the room. "Where are your parents?" I asked him.

"Getting food."

His arm stretched out of the bed. I took his hand in both of mine. His nose was straight again, he saw me and laughed.

"You saved us." He told me.

"How? What did I do?"

"Think about it."

I did. I got inside that guys head, "The head thing? That saved us?"

"Well why else would they dump us back in the park? You scared them."

I just looked up at him, "Jonathan said it isn't over though."

Talens face just dropped, "What? When?"

"Just before..."

"Did you see him? Or just hear him?"

"I heard him."

"Are you sure it was him?"

"I know his voice Talen." I snapped. "Okay sorry. What does that mean?" He asked.

"I don't know, 'It's not over' is what he said."

"Look it doesn't matter, we're safe now. You stopped them and probably wanted to hear that from Jonathan so you did, might be a mind controlling thing, you just need more self control, if you don't see him, he isn't there."

"You know this how Talen? Do you have my... powers?" This was kind of upsetting me, he didn't believe me or didn't want to believe Jonathan. He just turned his head away and let go of my hand. I felt bad but thats how he made me feel. Thought i'd change the subject.

"What about you and the Troyals now? Are you still one of them? I don't fulling understand what you do?"

His head snapped around, "They do Lena, 'THEY' do."

"Okay okay, just this whole situation.. I don't know how to deal with it Talen," I turned my head away from him, I just couldn't look at him in that moment.

"Lena look at me,"

I refused, he grabbed my hand, "Look at me." I turned my head, my eyes filled with tears, "Lena don't cry, it's over. I promise you, okay? I'm never going to let anything or anyone hurt you again,"

"You promise?"

He wiped my tears, "I promise."
