Tegan pulled up to the house in her Wrangler looking very elated.

I stifled a wringing snort of disdain as she hopped out and came over to me, swinging my bag over her shoulder.

“Morning,” she grinned at me as I scraped the last bit of chocolate spread out of the container.

“Morning,” I imitated her happy, chirpy voice. “Eugh, act normal,”

“Geez grouchy,” she laughed, whistling as she went outside and put my bag in her car.

Hayden came downstairs at that point, swiping a bag of Doritos out the cabinet and stuffing them into his bag.

“Dude, what are you going to do with all those?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Eat them, duh.” He frowned at me.

“By yourself?”

“I’m a healthy boy.”

“Emphasis on ‘boy’.” I said sarcastically.

He shot me the finger. “Hurry up Crutchy, before Tegan decides she’s gonna leave us.”

“Stop calling me Crutchy,” I said, but he was already gone.

I hobbled outside, shutting the door behind me and heading to Tegan’s Jeep. I quickly averted my eyes when I saw her and my brother pressed hard against the side of the vehicle, sucking each other’s faces. I mean, really. Is that necessary?

Eugh.

I climbed into the passenger seat and when I was comfortable, I reached across the center console and banged four times on the window.

Tegan and Hayden jumped apart and banged their heads together and a symphony of disgruntled “Ow’s” broke the morning air.

Tegan glared at me as she rubbed her forehead and fixed her jeans that were riding low on her waist. Hayden stuck his tongue out at me, and kissed Tegan again, just to set me off.

Ha, ha.

What a douche I had for a brother.

I mean, seriously?

He pulled open the door and got into the backseat, grinning wickedly at me.

“What’s the matter sis? Jealous?” he teased, waggling his eyebrows like some kind of moronic imbecile.

“Jealous? Of what?” I scoffed, turning away.

He snorted. “You’re so jealous it practically seeps off you in waves.”

“I have nothing to be jealous of,” I said, pulling on my knit cap. “I have a boyfriend.”

“That you don’t like.” Hayden shrugged. “I see your face sis. Randel ain’t cutting it.”

“Yeah he is,” I mumbled out my lie.

“No he isn’t,” Hayden said. “And don’t lie, we’re twins remember?”

“Un-identical.”

“So!” he laughed and then his face turned serious. “You shouldn’t be with someone you don’t like Misha, and you know it.”

“But mom and dad like him.” I shrugged.

“Screw mom and dad!” Hayden replied, albeit a little forcefully. “Do you think they liked Tegan?”
