The Lost Man

(This was written for jewel1307's Challenge Corner: Drabble using the picture on the right. A drabble is a very short work of fiction that is exactly 100 words long. It is a lot harder to write than you think.)

I exit the little shuttle and survey my surroundings. Looks like the dark matter fuel experiment has sent me spiralling through space to parts unknown.

I start scanning the surface. The air is safe but there is no life nearby except for some possums stumbling towards me. Suddenly the scanner beeps: radiation. I walk up and scan the emitting rock. I don't believe it, I scan it again. In frustration I kick the rock with my bionic leg. I look down at the possums, “I don't suppose you know the way back to the 24th century from the Cenozoic Era?”
