Kate POV

I sat there holding Ryan’s hand unable to speak

“You’re leaving me here while you go to Italy?” I said still trying to comprehend what was going on here

“Yes but Catherine and Mikal will be here as well to keep you safe”

“How?” It wasn’t like they had super powers

“There Vampires, I wouldn’t cross them under any circumstances but we need their help to protect you” He said holding onto my other hand, Normally news like this would freak me out but after hanging around with supernatural beings so much it seemed like the usual

“When do you leave?”

“Next week” He lay on my bed staring up at the ceiling

“I don’t want to leave you at all” He said pulling me down next to him. I laid down my head on his chest and just closed my eyes hoping it would all go away.

“Who is the reason you have to leave?” I said sitting up and looking down at him

“That doesn’t concern you leave us to figure it out” I laid there for a while next to Ryan when he lifted up his right hand

“Here have this and you’ll know I’ll be back for you” He said pulling off his emerald ring and placing it on the middle finger of my right hand

“I can’t take this it was your fathers” I said looking up at him

“I want you to have it, it lets everyone know you’re mine” he said smiling

“Oh really?” I said sarcastically

“Yes” he said getting on his knees and tackling me to the bed so that he was lying ever so gently on top of me

“Thanks, this means a lot to me” I said pulling his head towards me with my right hand so that I could kiss him.

“Well you’re definitely welcome” He said kissing me again

Two days later

 As I walked through school I saw a lost guy walking through the school frantically looking from the pink slip he held and the doors and lockers

“Hi are you lost?” I said smiling as I walked towards him

“No” he said obviously to masculine to admit otherwise. He was a cute boy he hand brown hair and cute brown puppy dog eyes and was rather handsome with a chiselled jaw

“Yes I am” he eventually sighed

“What are you looking for?” I asked

“I have Maths in room E3” He said looking at me hopefully

“I have maths there too, I’ll take you there” We walked along the courtyard towards maths

“My name is Kate by the way” I said smiling

“Damien” He said with a grin that was sly and sinister looking

“Where here” I said entering the class. I looked around the room for Ryan yet his seat was empty. It had been two days since I’d seen or heard from Ryan and I really missed him. I sat down on my seat behind Courtney and pulled my phone out onto my lap

Where are you, haven’t seen you in days
