VI. Stars

Your eyes were so magnifying
I felt smaller than an atom under your gaze
Like I was looking in front of the whole universe
Scrutinizing, yet celestially mesmerizing
You were trapping me inside your irises
As if I was a star learning the art of escape

Intimate and senseless, powerfully weak,
Your eyes said things your mouth couldn't
It was angry, it was reminiscent and it was glowering with the fear of loss,
You had all those in that cityscape-at-night eyes you have,
Decimated by the sharp edges the crescent moon had to show off,
Crying angelic little tears that formed into fuzzy lights, carved to smile when dawn breaks so softly,

And you were looking at the stars
While I was waiting for the sun to rise
