When I Can't Do Anything Else

Change

Change. Wow. Such a big word, ain't it? I think I won't be the first person to say that "I'm used to it."
Change. People who matter to me do it drastically,
not even realizing what it does to me emotionally.
You struggle so hard just to think about what you may have done,
not realizing how much pain it has cost you for what's been said and done.

Oh, but the pain. The long-lasting inevitable pain that haunts you from the moment you wake up, until you finally have lost the energy to control the things that run through your mind as you try to close your eyes to a deep slumber.

But that pain? That's what changes you.
That's what makes you stronger.
That's what makes you realize that there is more to life than this pain.
That once it changes you, you've proven how that person who hurt you isn't worth it.

So, when the person who made you change your perspective in life, good or bad, tells you that "you've changed"? Tell them this. And only this.
"You made me change."
