It was 5 p.m when we returned home. Austin remained in his car and waved his good-bye with some jealousy  settled underneath his smile. Infact, I hadn't insisted on him accompanying me in, for I really needed my usual afternoon nap.
As I tossed down my shoes after crossing the door's footstep, my eyes were caught by mom who was, as her habit, sipping her green tea on the balcony.
I didn't know what she was contemplating, but I was sure
what she saw was at no measure pleasing. Trying to look at what she gazed at, I sneaked a peak through the nearest window, yet nothing out there was other than natural till a heard my mother's voice, "when did you come! I didn't hear you entering."
"Oh I have just stepped in."
"So, how was the date?"
"First of all, IT WAS NOT A DATE, and
second of all, it was fine."
"And by fine you mean..."
"Good"
Then I recalled, "oh mom, do you remember that boy - jake -who
was my friend since kindergarten? The one who came and asked you and dad about my name on the very first day?"
"Yeah, I do remember him. Isn't he the handsome young lad that you had a crush on in the eighth grade?"
"MOM! I haven't had any crush on him."
"Darling, you wept all night when he travelled to japan."
"How did you know that! I don't sleepwalk, do I?"
"Psh. No you don't. But do you think that your tear and booger
soaked pillow has cleaned itself?"
"Gross! But makes sense. Anyway, we saw Jake in the park today, he has returned from japan lately."
"Yes I knew about it. He came to the hospital several times during your
residence there."
"Really! Why didn't you tell me?"
"Sorry, I totally forgot about it. Oh by the way, jessica had sent you a letter this morning. It's up stairs in your room."
As those words flashed through my mind, I rushed up as eager a child awaiting his birthday
present. Jessica was my nerd best friend, she was the sister I never had although we were kinda different. Jessica got a full scholarship to study at Harvard, so she moved to Cambridge last month. As they said, it was a touching farewell between her and me but unfortunately I don't remember a glance of it.
When I found the message on the desk next  to my bed, I noticed that the envelope wasn't perfectly sealed, yet I didn't  make a deal out of it for enthusiasm was piling up in side me till I felt my
heart is about to explode. My thought was that my friend will tell me about the university of her dreams, some juicy gossips, and will end it, as usual with a bunch of out secret words. However, nothing was on point, and the letter went as:
Dear Jasmine,
I hope that you and Austin are doing well. He is a great guy when you come to know him. Infact, I would be tricky if I said that I dont trust him. Oh, I am doing well here and every thing is good btw. I wish I could see you soon.
Dont forget to exercise,
RUN as fast as u can . .

and That was all.
