Chapter Six, A Surprise Guest

~Kaoru's P.O.V~

"Hey kaoru?", butch asked. "What? I'm busy?", I said as I continued to do sit ups as Ashley held my feet down to the ground. "Your brother called. He said he is in town", butch said. "What?! Dai is here?", I asked as I sat up and looked at butch. "Yeah. They're only here for a day though. They're just passing through", butch said. "Is nami here as well?", I asked as I stood up. "Yes. They're gonna meet us here.. They should be here any minute now", butch said. "So I finally get to meet the famous dai?", Ashley asked. "Dai is just my idiot brother", I said. "You talk about him a lot", Alex said. "That's only because we had so many good stories from when we were kids", I said. "Like that time we threw the football right through mom's favorite lamp shade?", a voice said. I quickly turned around to see dai and nami. "Hey guys!", I said as I smiled and walked over to them. "Hey punk!", dai said as he grabbed me and started to give me a noogie. "Oh get off!", I said as I pushed him away and laughed. "Sorry kaoru", nami said. "No it's okay.. I'm used to it", I said. "Did you miss me?", dai asked. "Get over yourself dai.. I could never miss an idiot like you", I said. "Aw! I missed you too", dai said as he smiled. I smiled back at him. "I'll never fully understand you two?", nami said as she smiled. "We have a weird way of showing love for each other", I said to Ashley. "I kinda noticed", Ashley said as she smiled. "Uh dai, nami these are my roommates Ashley and Alex. Ashley, Alex this is my brother dai and his wife nami", I said as I gestured to them. They all quickly exchanged greetings. "Man I still can't believe you got married", I said. "What? You didn't think I should of married nami?", dai asked. "No! I just wonder why she married you of all the people in the world", I joked. "It's because of my stunning good looks", dai said as he smirked. "Oh yeah right", I said as I laughed. "I happen to be very good looking so be jealous", dai said. "Oh please your good looks didn't get you with nami! It was pretty much momoko who got you two together. You both liked each other but was to shy to talk about it with each other", I said. "Well I'm sure my looks helped", dai said. "Actually dai. I didn't care about your looks. I really liked your personality and the way you are. That's why I fell in love with you", nami said. "Aw you love me for who I am. How sweet", dai said as he smiled. "Man could you imagine what would of happened if momoko never forced you to into seven minutes of heaven together? And then if kaoru would of never convinced you to go talk to nami? You two might not even be together right now", butch said. "I'm just very lucky", dai said as he smiled and held Nami's hand. "Thank you for helping us get together back then", nami said as she smiled. "No problem", I said as I smiled. "So speaking of being married.. When is your wedding?", dai asked. "I don't know?", I said. "You haven't started planning?", nami asked. "No i'll hire some one to do it after I get back to Japan", I said. "I feel sorry for you butch", dai said,"your going to be stuck with this punk for the rest of your life". "That's okay. I can handle her", butch said as he smiled. "Your a brave man", dai said as he laughed. Butch laughed to as he nodded his head. "Well I think they will be happy together. They've been together for a long time now and they're both happy", nami said. "I think so too. I'm happy for you guys. I don't think kaoru could have found a better guy for her than you butch", dai said. "Thanks dai", butch said as he smiled. "Your welcome", dai said. "So do you guys wanna go out and get some thing to eat? I'm sure you guys don't wanna hang out in the gym all day", I said. "Sure. Where should we go?", dai asked. "I know this great place right down the street", butch said. "Oh you mean that 50's style cafe right?", I asked. "Yeah. You guys like cheese burgers right?", butch asked. "Of course! I love cheese burgers!", dai said. "I like cheese burgers too", nami said. "Cool it's settled then. We will go to the 50's restaurant", butch said.

"Man I hope our food comes quick! I'm starving!", butch said. "I can't wait to taste the French fries! I hope there as good as you said they are", dai said. "Oh believe me there great!", Ashley said. "I like there cheesy fries best. Those are great", Alex said. "I like there cheesy bacon fries", I said. "Kaoru, you like any thing that has bacon on it!", dai said. "That's because bacon is the best food ever! Well except for when butch makes it", I said. "Oh come on! I only set the pan on fire once!", butch said as he crossed him arms. "You ruined perfectly good bacon!", I said as I laughed. "Yeah and you almost caught the whole apartment on fire!", Ashley said. "I'm sorry man but your a terrible cook", Alex said. "Alex is right. You even burn toaster waffles", I said. "I swear the toaster was broken!", butch said. "Butch, you have said that about every toaster we have ever bought... I think you just don't know how to work the toaster!", I said. "I know how to use a toaster! You turn the front dial then push the lever down", butch said. "Oh my god", I said as I face palmed while every one else laughed at butch. "What?! What?!", butch asked. "Your not supposed to turn the dial! The dial controls how dark it cooks the food! Haven't you ever noticed its always set to the same number before you turn it all the way up?", I asked. "No... Your messing with me? Right?", butch asked. "No I swear! I'm being serious!", I said. "Butch she is right. She isn't messing with you", Ashley said. "Are you kidding me?! I've been using toasters wrong my whole life!", butch said. We all couldn't help but laugh at butch's frustrated facial expression. "So.. That means I'm not that bad of a cook!! I won't burn toaster waffles ever again!", butch said as he smiled. "I can't wait to tell momoko about this", I said as I laughed. "No! Don't do that!", butch said. "Why not?", I asked. "Because then brick will know!", butch said. "Why does that matter?", I asked. "Because he will laugh at me about it forever! I'm the one who makes fun of my brothers! So if he knows he will use that against me every time I try to joke about him or boomer", butch said. "Oh come on its funny!", I said. "No it's not", butch said. "I hope there is a reporter in here.. Then they can write a whole article about you not knowing how to work a toaster!", I said as I laughed. "Oh hush!", butch said as he laughed and reached over and poked my arm shocking me. "Ow! Hey!", I said as I laughed and gave his shoulder a push. "At least I know how to use the electric can opener!", butch said as he laughed. "Hey! That thing is hard to use!", I said. "I'm on kaoru's side. I think there hard to use too", nami said. "See I'm not the only one who has trouble with it", I said. Butch smiled as he rolled his eyes. Every one got quiet for a minute so I spoke up. "So how's mom and dad? I haven't talked to them", I said. "I don't know? I haven't talked to them either", dai said. "Well I guess shou is the favorite kid now since neither of us remember to call them", I said. "Your probably right", dai said as he laughed. "I'm sure your parents don't have a favorite and love you guys all the same", nami said. "Eh who knows?", I said as I shrugged my shoulders and smiled. "So how are momoko and brick doing?", nami asked. "Good I guess. They've been busy with filming for a show", I said. "Are those love birds still madly in love?", dai ask as he smirked. "Yep. I'm sure those two make out every chance they get", butch said as he smirked. "I'm happy for them. They're such a good couple", nami said. "So what about miyako and boomer? How are they?", dai asked. "Pretty good. Miya and boomer have been pretty busy designing clothes for a new line they're about to put out", I said. "I bet it's weird living in Milan.. It would be so much different than Japan", dai said. "Pfft.. Living here is so much different than Japan too", I said. "I guess your right", dai said. "So what are you guys doing? Like why are you here?", I asked. "We're traveling around the states for a year", dai said. "Our year is almost up though. We will go back to Japan once summer is here", nami said. "We're going back once summer is here too", butch said. "It's going to be like a big reunion. Miya, boomer, momoko and brick will be going back as soon as summer is here too", I said. "It will be nice to get to see every one again", dai said. "Yea it will.. I miss those guys like crazy", I said. "Me too... I especially miss teasing momoko and brick", butch said as he snickered. "Hey remember that time we accidentally got momoko and brick in trouble for passing notes?", I said as I laughed. "Yes! Oh man those two was so embarrassed", butch said as he laughed. I remembered all the good times I had with my friends. It makes me happy remembering all the good times we had.. But it kinda makes me sad because it makes me miss them even more. I looked over at butch and he looked like he was deep in thought. Maybe he was thinking the same thing I was thinking too. I was about to say some thing but dai cut me off. "Hey look our food is coming!", dai said. I looked in the direction that dai was looking to see our waitress carrying a tray of food. "I can't wait to eat!", butch said as he smiled. "I can't wait to eat the cheesy bacon fries!", I said as I smiled. The waitress stopped at our table and began handing out our food. After the waitress left we all began eating. It was nice getting to have dinner with dai and nami. I've missed them. I miss my family. I guess I should call my parents some time.. I bet they miss me too.
