Chapter 11 : The Prince's Truth

Taehyung returned from work the next day to find King Sangkook and Queen Mina preparing to depart from the mansion back to their palace . He mentally cursed himself for forgetting that detail despite Jimin reminding him that afternoon to come back on time, he hurried to join the others who had gathered to bid them farewell.

"Ah, Taehyung!! you have arrived "Hoseok greeted him with a welcoming smile. "We were waiting for you."

Taehyung bowed respectfully to the royal couple. "I apologize if I'm late "he said sincerely

King Sangkook turned his attention to Taehyung, with a smile. "No need to apologize, son. We are glad you could join us" he said warmly placing a reassuring hand on Taehyung's shoulder.

Taehyung's gaze shifted briefly to Yoongi, who stood behind Jungkook clinging to his arms as usual and appearing somewhat uncomfortable by his sudden presence . Taehyung sighed snd offered a subtle nod of acknowledgment to Jungkook before returning his attention to the king and queen.

"It's been a pleasure to finally meet you," Sangkook said with a respectful smile " I must say, I'm impressed by you.." he remarked. "You're truly a remarkable alpha and I'm so glad you are going to be my daughter's mate"

Taehyung nodded in acknowledgment..trying to look happy about the king's words, though beneath the surface he couldn't help but feel a hint of unease.

It was just them, Ji Eun approached them with her bags, she enveloped Jungkook in a tight hug as soon as she came and then turned to Yoongi, holding his hand affectionately.

"I will miss you so much" she said, pinching Yoongi's cheeks fondly.

Taehyung couldn't help but feel a wave of relief wash over him upon seeing her. As he didn't see her near her parents,he might have had the thought that Ji Eun was planning to stay back with her brother and Yoongi and he was not excited about that prospect .

Jungkook responded to the hug with an equally tight embrace, to his sister. Yoongi stood beside them, smiling softly as he observed the siblings interacting. Taehyung found himself mesmerized by Yoongi's radiant gummy smile. He realised that he had never seen him smile so genuinely before. A pang of jealousy flickered within Taehyung, envying Jungkook for being able to witness that smile whenever he pleased.

Minah's voice brought Taehyung back to reality ,interrupting his thoughts"I hope you two had a good time, even though it wasn't much " she asked.

Taehyung nodded, offering a polite smile while Ji Eun also expressed her agreement. "That's good to hear isn't it dear?" Minah directed her question to Sangkook.

Sangkook chuckled warmly. "Yes, and don't worry. You can meet her again when she has days off from her work. Meanwhile, you have phones" he reassured them, prompting laughter from the group and making Ji Eun and Taehyung look at each other awkwardly .

The kings expression softened with emotion as he addressed Taehyung's father . "This makes me really happy, Daeho... our children together... our families bonding. You know how dear your Luna was to me and Mina. She was practically my sister, and I'm so glad we can keep this bond stronger through our children."

"And grandchildren too, if the goddess bless us " Daeho added with a twinkle in his eye, causing Taehyung to cough uncomfortably, while Ji Eun rolled her eyes in mock annoyance as the alphas shared a laugh.

Daeho let out a deep sigh, his gaze drifting momentarily as memories of his late mate flooded his mind. "I agree with you, Sangkook... And my Luna..she would have been happy if she were here "he murmured softly, his voice carrying a touch of sadness. "Both my sons are finally settled in life... starting their own family. I feel like I have fulfilled my duty as their father " he added with his words laced with a sense of pride and sorrow.
