There's A Space In Between Everything

If I could give it all back
just to see your eyes,
to be on your land,
to be on your mind,

would you help unpack?
Would you wash my white lies?
Would you take hold of my hand
and let our halves realign?

My head's not the same since you left.
You're still in it, but you're lost in the mess
and no matter the pills, and no matter the means,
no matter the hate for the things that I dream,
there's a space in between everything that I feel.
I'm not sure if all of this is real.

There's a letter stuffed into the draw
on the table right next to the door.
I forgot your address, but just take out the ocean,
my feet trail my walls with the same kind of motion;

I'd get there in minutes, I'd miss all the miles;
I'd move back in time to when your place was my side.
And I know that it's wild, should know how to let go,
but the mountains I climbed did nothing to help me grow.

My head's not the same since you left.
You're still in it, but you're lost in the mess
and no matter the pills, and no matter the means,
no matter the hate for the things that I dream,
there's a space in between everything that I feel.
And I'm all out of luck, but I keep making deals.

Did the flowers I sent ever get there?
Does your sister remember my name?
Do you sneak it into The Lord's Prayer
that you wish our love never went away?

My head's not the same since you left.
You're still in it, but it's all just a mess, hmm.
I stopped taking pills; stopped climbing those hills.
There's a hatred for all that I dream.
And there's a space in between everything,
but I hope that I'll see you again.

There's a hatred for all that I dream.
And there's a space in between everything.
But I hope that I'll see you again.
