~Lilah's POV~
It's been two days since the last time I saw Miguel, I'm starting to get worried about him. He bailed after my little prank Saturday morning, I didn't see or hear from him Sunday, and he didn't come to school Monday. He also hasn't been returning my calls or texts.
As I'm walking into math I see Miguel sitting in his seat staring at the wall with his jaw clenched. I sit down in my seat without acknowledging him, two can play that game, although I might give in in the next three minutes. He looks at me just staring, as he's about to say something Eli walks up to me.
"Boo Boo, you left this at my house yesterday," Eli hands me my shirt and walks out of the classroom. I still feel Miguel's gaze on me as I'm putting my shirt in my bag. "Why the fuck was your shirt at his house?" Miguel says startling me a little.
"If you didn't leave then you would know, plus why do you even care? You've been leaving me on delivered for two and a half days" I snap back glaring at him as mean as I can while maintaining eye contact. "So don't come at me all angry when I didn't even do anything." I turn back into my seat looking at the board where the teacher is writing down equations on the white board.
I look over at the door looking through the window seeing Eli smiling wide giving me a thumbs up. Did he really do all of that just to make Miguel jealous? I look into my bag looking down at the shirt realizing it's not even mine. I look back at Eli mouthing a 'thank you', he smiles again walking away.

As I sit down at my lunch table Eli comes up behind me and sit's next to me. I look at him with a confused look, "Miguel said I couldn't sit with him," Eli say's looking down at the table. I start to rub his back as Maddy and Lilly sit down with us. "What are you doing here?" one of them asks. I tell them I'll be right back as I start to get up and walk up to Miguel.
"What is your issue?" I ask staring him in the eyes causing everyone else at his table to look up at me shocked that I just asked the Miguel Hernandez what his issue was. Miguel looks up at me saying "I don't have an issue," I scoff rolling my eyes "You can be a real butt you know, you're mad at Eli and punishing him for returning my shirt. Are you kidding me?" I look him in the eyes as I say whats on my mind.
"After you stormed out of the house we all chose to make your favorite cookies for when you got back. But when you never got back I put them in your pantry before I left. And just so you'll stop being immature Eli gave me his shirt to make you jealous. So stop being a baby and get over whatever it is you have an issue on," I take a deep breathe in to make up for all the oxygen I just released.
"Lilah I-" Miguel starts but I cut him off. "No, don't. We're not talking until you compose yourself and apologize to Eli," I look at him and his friends for 10 seconds before walking off. I go to my table, I grab my bag and look at Eli, Maddy, and Lilly. "Can we leave?" I ask hoping one of them will say yes.
Eli stands up and grabs his bag grabbing my hand to lead me outside of the cafeteria with Lilly and Maddy trailing behind us.
I don't understand what's going on with Miguel. One minute he's being cute and sweet cuddling me then the next he's being a total butthole. I can tell he's had something happen to him when he was younger, I would know because of the look in his eyes. I've had that same look in my eyes while I was trying to get through the first seven months after my dad died. 'You still are..' I say
After about ten minutes of driving we finally make it to Eli's house. Once we walk in he immediately goes to the fridge and walks over to the couch with a big salad bowl full of fruit. As long as it's fruit I won't judge, after I think that thought I internally laugh at myself knowing I'll always judge Eli with the amount of food he eats while he doesn't gain a single pound.
