The Distance Between Us

Chapter 1

~Lilah's Pov~

"Wake Up!?" Mom says. I burst out of my bed running towards my closet for clothes. 

I hop into the shower luckily only being in for 10 minutes. I get dressed and begin brushing my teeth, I lick my wrist and smell it to make sure my breath doesn't stink. 

It isn't.

Today is the first day at my new school, I'm a little nervous seeing as I'm not that sociable. 

I can tend to be an awkward person around people, always stuttering and staring at the floor being embarrassed. 

I get into my car and put in the directions on the way to school so I don't end up getting lost.

I park in an open spot and grab my schedule so I don't make a fool of myself and stand there looking like a lost puppy. 

I grab my backpack and begin to wake towards the school still watching my feet. I walk around the corner to look for my locker but end up bumping into a muscular body causing me to start falling. 

He grabs my waist pulling me to him to stop me from falling on my butt. 

I begin too blush a little at how close I am to this strangers chest.

"Woah dude, who's this pretty lady?" A random guy walks up to us. I back away a little embarrassed at what almost happened just now. 

"I-I'm Lilah.." I stutter staring at the ground too scared to look up at their faces. 

By the looks of it they know each other, "I'm Eli sweet heart, this tough guy right here is Miguel." 

I begin to blush at the name he called me but quickly wipe it away. 

"You must be new here, I've never seen you around. Do you need help looking for anything or do you have it all figured out on your own?" Eli say's. "Y-yea I need help looking for my l-locker.." I almost slap myself in the face for being so dumb.

What's wrong with me?

"What locker hun" A girl walks up to us.

"Locker 103." 

"I'm Maddy by the way this here is Lilly." Maddy says as Lilly joins us, everyone starts to walk in the same direction, which I'm guessing they're taking me to my new locker. 

"I-I'm Lilah." I say as we stop in front of a locker. I begin to put in my code having a little trouble. I end up getting into my locker after what seems like forever.

"Where is your first class boo-boo?" Eli say's, I hand him my schedule too scared to speak and make a fool of myself yet again. 

"OoOo we have Government, Science, and Gym together. Along with Lunch and free period." Lilly and Eli say at the same time. Lilly look's at Eli and slaps him for being weird.

I almost giggle but I hold it in. 

They seem so nice maybe I could be friends with them. Gosh today has been good and bad so far. Miguel is kinda cute tho but he hasn't said a single word? He looks mean, he has his eyebrows furrowed as he hovers over me. 

Eli and Lilly along with Miguel and I walk to Government. I was a little nervous because a couple of people were looking at me. 

Two girls were glaring at me for some reason, I have no idea why tho. Maybe they hate what I'm wearing? Should I change? I didn't bring any clothes but I could go search through lost and found.

"Welcome welcome!! You must be the new student. I'm Mr. Murphy your Government teacher. Welcome to Bridgewood high school, it is a pleasure to have you here!"
