I woke up with a start, Katie, Astoria and Pansy were all gathered around my bed trying to wake me up. "You're back! I have so much to tell you." I said as I got up and gave them all a hug. I hadn't realized how lonely it would've been without them until they all left for Christmas break.

"Have a nice Christmas [name]?" Astoria asked, I nodded. I opened my mouth to tell them about the mirror but I got interrupted.

"Did you get our presents? Pansy asked.

"Yeah, thanks guys. I didn't manage to get you anything though because I didn't know where to buy them from, I'll make it up to you though I promise."

"Don't worry about it." Katie said, smiling at me. "What did you want to tell us?"

"Oh yeah, that. So on boxing day Harry took me to this empty classroom and all there was inside was a big mirror leaned against the wall, and when I looked in it my parents were stood behind me." Pansy and Astoria furrowed their eyebrows and their jaws dropped, Katie gasped and put her hands over her mouth. "What?" I asked, I assumed this sort of thing was common in the wizarding world but judging by their shocked expressions, it wasn't.

"Can you show us?" Pansy asked eagerly.

"Nope, last night Dumbledore found us and said it's being moved and asked us not to look for it." I said, there was a lump in my throat because I knew I wouldn't be able to see my parents again.

"Well I doubt they moved it out of the castle so we could go look for it?" Katie requested, seeing my immediate change in mood.

"Yeah, lessons start tomorrow so we have the rest of the day to search. I'm sure we'll find it." Astoria said

"Come on, lets go." Pansy said, grabbing my hand. "I want to meet your parents." She said, smiling at me.

We spent the next five hours or so searching the castle, with no luck. My hope was getting smaller. But there was still one floor we hadn't checked. The third floor. "We can't it's forbidden!" I said to the three of them as I followed them up the staircase.

"Exactly! This is where it'll be." Pansy said excitedly as we reached the third floor corridor.

We stayed close to each other as we looked in all the rooms, they were all empty and dirty. We reached the end of the corridor and Katie tried to open the last door but it was locked, she turned around to face us. "Does anyone know a spell to unlock the door?"

I raised my eyebrows, "really? It's locked for a reason Katie, maybe we shouldn't." I said, but I secretly wanted to. This was kind of exciting.

"I know a spell and I think we should, we've been looking for hours we can't give up now." Astoria said, we all nodded at her and moved aside so she could unlock the door. "Alohomora."

We heard the lock click and Astoria opened the door, but left just enough room for each of us to squeeze in because the door made a lot of noise, we didn't want Filch to know we we're here.

I was the last to go in and just as I squeezed through I heard them all scream. I looked up and as soon as I saw it I retreated back into the corridor, pushing the door open wider so my friends could get back before slamming it shut. We all shared horrified looks before making a beeline back to our dormitory. We didn't say a word to each other until we were back in the dorms.

"What the fuck was that?" Astoria said, still panting. I've never heard her swear before, I thought. But that didn't matter right now so I didn't say anything.

"D'you think it has something to do with the mirror?" Katie asked after she caught her breath.

"How could it?" I said.
