Suddenly, Joshamee Gibbs walked in the Hall.

"Jack? Essie? What the Teague are we doin' 'ere?"

Essie quickly explained what was happening and Gibbs sat down next to Jack.

Pintel: You'll be dinin' with the captain. And he requests you wear this. [gives her a dress]

Elizabeth: Well, you may tell the captain that I am disinclined to acquiesce to his request.

Elizabeth smirks. Younger her did have some of a backbone before she became a pirate.

Pintel: He said you'd say that. He also said if that be the case, you'll be dinin' with the crew and you'll be naked. [she snatches the dress] Fine.

Barbossa receives many glares and insults. "Argh, quit ya yappin'."

[in the Captain's cabin, the food is laid out]

Barbossa: [Elizabeth eats daintily] There's no need to stand on ceremony, nor call to impress anyone. You must be hungry. [gives her a goblet with wine] Try the wine. And the apples? [offers her one] One of those next.

Theo nudged Draco, "I told you! Me and Blaise told you - you're both obsessed with your green apples."

Blaise added, "He's literally a version of you. But less handsome."

Barbossa wished he had lasers for eyes after hearing him again. He really hated this kid.

Elizabeth: It's poisoned.

Barbossa: There would be no sense to be killing ye, Miss Turner.

Elizabeth: Then release me, you have your trinket; I'm of no further value to you.

Barbossa: [takes out the medallion] You don't know what this is, do ye?

Elizabeth: It's a pirate medallion.

Barbossa: This is Aztec gold, one of 882 identical pieces they delivered in a stone chest to Cortés himself. Blood money paid to stem the slaughter he wreaked upon them with his armies. But the greed of Cortés was insatiable. So the heathen gods placed upon the gold a terrible curse. Any mortal that removes but a single piece from that stone chest shall be punished for eternity.

The younger students looked horrified at Barbossa's words.

Elizabeth: I hardly believe in ghost stories anymore, Captain Barbossa.

Barbossa: Aye. That's exactly what I thought when we were first told the tale. Buried on an Island of Dead that cannot be found except for those who know where it is. Find it, we did. There be the chest. Inside be the gold. And we took 'em all. We spent 'em and traded 'em and frittered 'em away on drink and food and pleasurable company. The more we gave 'em away, the more we came to realize the drink would not satisfy, food turned to ash in our mouths, and all the pleasurable company in the world could not slake our lust.

Ron looked horrified and whispered to his brothers, "No food? I'd rather be dead than immortal."

Barbossa: We are cursed men, Miss Turner. Compelled by greed, we were, but now we are consumed by it. [Elizabeth takes a butter knife and hides it.]

Will smirks. There was the woman he fell in love with. Pretty but scary. And usually quite dangerous.

Barbossa: There is one way we can end our curse. All the scattered pieces of the Aztec gold must be restored and the blood repaid. Thanks to ye, we have the final piece.
