We arrive at Farah's base and unbuckle our seatbelts, standing up as the ramp comes down. We walk down, fastening our pace as we try not to waste time as much as possible.

I see the base... It's an abnormally large one. We get through the gates and the first thing I spot is the amount of soldiers. I've never seen so many in one place. They're all working, no one is standing around.

Some enforcing structures, some training, and the others talking to their teammates as they hand over classified documents, speaking languages I can't understand

I snap myself out of observation. It's instinct to watch and observe my surroundings. It's how I survived. I've learned things that have kept me alive for all these years.

To be observant. Quiet is fine, but make sure to notice everything and everyone around me. To use them to my advantage. Important skills create important soldiers, and that's what counts the most.

We continue moving forward, Alex leading the way to a small building ahead. He leads us inside, it's familiar to my team, but not to me. I cautiously make my way in last. The first thing i spot is a woman, Farrah.
She's sitting behind her desk as she stamps paperwork before slipping them into folders

Her head jolts up as she sees Alex in front of her

"Alex, Good to see you back"
She gives him a warm smile as she braces her hands on the surface of her desk and leans in slightly as she stands, walking around and embracing him in a tight hug, doing the same to the rest of my team

She stops in front of me and I take an unsure step back

"You must be Adira. I've heard a lot about you"
She speaks, her voice having a strong and leading undertone. She nods in respect

"Let me guess. From alex?"
I remark

"You guess right"
Farah says with a small smile

"I'll give you two a minute to get to know each other"
Alex states, motioning Price, Gaz, Soap, and Ghost out the door and they follow behind him. This is just adding onto the time away from the mission

Once they walk out, Farah returns her eyes to me

"I can see the hesitation between you and Alex"
She steps back, tilting her head with a questioning expression

I don't respond, trying my best to find something a little bit nicer to say about him

She quickly notices my uncertainty to respond as if she's seen it before

"Alex is a nice man. We've worked with each other for a long time. You can trust him"
Farah states with reassuring nod

"No offense to you Farah, but I don't trust anyone more than my team. I was surprised when he came into the base at four in the morning unwarningly"

"We have that in common. And Alex told me the story. Said he thought he was close to death for a minute. You're a strong woman Adira"

"Maybe too strong. It's hasn't always brought me good things"

"There's no such thing Adira. Being strong can bring unexpected outcomes, but those outcomes are from enemies that wish they had a soldier like you"
