5 basic rules you must follow to be a good person:

1. If a street performer makes you stop walking, you owe him a dollar.

2. If someone asks you to hold the elevator, you hold the elevator.

3. Hold the door open for the person behind you.

4. When entrusted with a secret, keep it.

5. Never use the word "just" as if something is disposable.
Someone told Oprah that something was too expensive and she said "it's really not, it's only like 100 something". What is cheap for you is not cheap for everyone else. I once heard someone say that "just" 16 people from New Zealand died in the Vietnam war. Is 16 less than 100,000? Yes. But it's not "just" 16 people. Those 16 people had their own dreams and goals and aspirations and ambitions and desires and families and friends and stories. Someone that dies is not a "casualty". They are not a "statistic." If there's a shooting and "just" one person dies, that doesn't make the shooting any less worse. 16 people is a tragedy. Not a "just".
