Dr. Finley allowed us to go to the castle as long as I didn’t have any issues with coming back if I felt uneasy. She would come and check on me tomorrow and informed Leon of the preferred time. I got dressed into the pants and shirt that the hospital provided me, it was a weird material and was quite thin. I felt odd not having to wear an apron. Leon watched me, but turned around when I took off my hospital gown and put on the clothes.

“Are you decent?” He asked before he turned around.

“Yes.” I whispered, it still hurt for me to open my mouth too far. But I was getting better quicker which was nice.

“Do you want me to carry you?” Leon asked, before bringing the wheelchair over to me.

I was nervous. I wasn’t used to people doing things for me. It was odd. “No, the wheelchair is fine.”

“I can feel you being nervous, can you tell me why?” Leon asked clenching his jaw.

“Why?” I asked him.

“Because I’m trying to form a line of communication with you. I’m trying to connect to you.” Leon said to me, running a hand through his hair.

Why though? I’m your mate, I have to do what you say. Your the higher station and the male, I have to listen to you it’s my new calling. I replied to him, sitting in the wheelchair.

We walked out of the room to the elevator, and Leon crouched down to my level.

I want to know you. I want you to understand that if you want to touch me, do it. If you want to say something, say it. Because I want to know. I am your life mate. Meaning, I’m going to be here until we both end up in the heavens with the Moon Goddess. Leon linked to me, and took my hand. I want to help you. I want to protect you. I want nothing more than to be happy with you. This doesn’t have to be an arrangement of sorts. I want to be your friend, your love, your everything.

I have never heard anyone talk to me this way before. I looked at him with such confusion, because who could love me? Who would want me? I’m Farm Faction, we live in a temperature controled farm dome atmosphere, we serve the people, and we’re content with doing so. We train every single day from the time we are young to be content with our job. We even are given pills to keep us complacient when we are feeling like we should be doing something else.

Oh my goodness. I never took my pill. I said to him in shock. I didn’t take it yesterday either, because I woke up and just went to work.

Leon visibly clenched his jaw and stood, the elevator stopped and was opening. Are you talking about the one they give children to make them compliant into doing their jobs alongside their families?

It’s a vitamin to keep me healthy. Though, Andres doesn’t take them. They make him itchy. I linked to Leon as we walked out of the elevator and he wheeled me past what looked like a waiting area and a reception desk. Every person we passed bowed and curtsied it was such an odd thing. Then we walked through some double doors, and I could feel the anger come off of Leon. Was he upset with me for obeying my parents and taking the pill every day? Heck, even my parents took their pills every day, what was so wrong about it?

Outside the door was a big black car, but what I didn’t expect were probably twenty people standing around the car taking pictures of us with big flashy cameras. I squinted my eyes and raised my hand over them. I also began to panic, and Leon picked up on that. He stopped the wheelchair and picked me up, someone opened the door for him and we got into the car together. Leon kept me on his chest cradled like a child, even when the driver drove us away.
