A Pirate's Promise

"In the coming days, we'll discuss the safest path forward. But whatever you decide, you won't face it alone." Sabo paused, a soft smile emerging. "Somehow I think when Luffy finds out, he'll be ecstatic for a new adventure!"

A watery chuckle escaped Hancock at Sabo's prediction of Luffy's reaction. Some tension left her shoulders, and she leaned back, exhausted but reassured.

Koala beamed at Sabo, always impressed by his leadership. With final smiles for Hancock, they exited to grant her peace. Hancock watched as they left, closing the door behind them. The sun's rays warmed the wooden walls, and Hancock drifted to sleep.

[3 DAYS LATER]

Hancock entered the food lounge. Her arrival caused a slight stir among the crew. Koala, concern etched on her face, approached her. "How are you feeling? Is the baby okay? Are you hungry?"

"I'm alright, just wanted to sit with everyone," Hancock replied, smiling . The crew members exchanged glances, with some blushing slightly. Koala rubbed her neck, laughing a bit awkwardly.

*Flashback:*

Hancock eased into a steaming bath, seeking relief for her aching back. Her mind wandered back to her days under the Celestial Dragons' thumb. Though physically free now, emotional scars lingered.

A soft knock broke her reverie. "May I join you?" Koala asked from the other side of the door. Hancock hesitated, then nodded. Koala stepped into the bath, her eyes meeting Hancock's with empathy and understanding.

The soft creaking of the ship blended with the distant murmur of the water, creating a serene backdrop for their conversation.

Koala, sensing Hancock's unspoken thoughts, spoke gently, "Being a woman in this world, especially a pirate's world, has its own set of challenges, doesn't it?"

Hancock nodded, her gaze distant. "Yes, and now, motherhood adds another dimension to it. I never imagined this path for myself."

Koala leaned forward, her eyes warm with empathy. "But this path chose you, Hancock. And while it's filled with uncertainties, it's also a testament to your strength. You're not just any woman; you're a symbol of resilience."

Hancock sighed, a mix of worry and pride in her eyes. "I want my child to grow up in a world that's different from our past. One filled with love, not fear."

"The best part," Koala said with a soft smile, "is that this child will have a mother who's overcome great adversities. Your experiences, both painful and empowering, will be a guide for them."

Later,
The cool night breeze swept over the ship, mingling with the salty tang of the sea. Hancock stood alone, her gaze lost in the dark ocean. Her hand rested gently on her growing belly, a symbol of the profound changes she was undergoing.

Life since leaving Amazon Lily had been a whirlwind of emotions and physical challenges. The relentless nausea and constant mood swings made her feel like a stranger in her own body.

Sabo approached her quietly, his hands casually in his pockets. "Hey, everything okay?" he asked softly, breaking her reverie.

Startled, Hancock turned to him, a deep sigh escaping her lips. "It's just... so overwhelming. I feel tired all the time, my moods are all over the place, and this morning sickness is relentless," she confessed.

Tears welled in her eyes as she continued, her voice laced with worry. "I'm scared I'll hold Luffy back. I can't even fight properly now. And how do I tell him about the baby without feeling like I'm just a burden?"

She brushed away the tears that had started to fall, a look of frustration on her face. "I don't even cry this much normally," she said, pointing to her damp cheeks, a rare display of vulnerability.

Sabo listened intently, allowing her to express her fears and frustrations. When she had calmed slightly, he spoke with gentle reassurance, "You're going through a lot, Hancock. But remember, you've always been strong. This is just another challenge you'll overcome."

Leaning back against the railing, Sabo shared his own experiences. "When I joined the revolutionaries, after getting my memories back, it was tough. I was dealing with so much. But finding a purpose and a sense of belonging helped me."

He gave her a reassuring smile. "And seeing how much you love Luffy, it's really inspiring. Your love for each other... it's a powerful thing. Who would have know my little brother would do that "

"L...little brother?" Hancock's eyes widened in surprise, a mix of confusion and curiosity in her voice. Sabo's casual mention of Luffy as his brother caught her completely off guard.

Sabo chuckled softly, his smile tinged with nostalgia. "Yeah, I guess I never mentioned it. Luffy and I, along with Ace, we're brothers. Not by blood, but by choice. We shared sake as kids and made a vow to live as brothers."

Hancock's expression softened as she absorbed this new revelation. "I knew about Ace," she said, "but I had no idea about you. Luffy... he never mentioned."

"Understandable," Sabo replied with a shrug. "I was thought to be dead for a long time. It's a long story, but I'm back now, and I'm here to support Luffy and his loved ones... which includes you and your child."

The moon cast a soft glow on the deck, creating a serene atmosphere. Hancock felt a wave of emotions but also a sense of relief and connection. Sabo's presence, his shared history with Luffy, and his understanding brought a comforting sense of belonging and support.

"Thank you, Sabo. Knowing this, knowing you're here for us... it means a lot," Hancock said, her voice steadier now. She glanced at the ocean, her thoughts momentarily drifting to Luffy.

Sabo's presence had offered her more than just comfort; it had given her a deeper insight into the man she loved and the bonds he shared.

"Thank you, Sabo," Hancock said, her voice now firmer, reflecting her inner shift. "This... you being here, it changes everything." Her gaze lingered on the sea, thoughts of Luffy weaving through her mind like the ocean's currents.

Sabo smiled  "Let's head back," Sabo suggested after a moment, sensing that Hancock had found some solace. "You need your rest. Remember, you're not just looking after yourself now."
