"Come on, Blessing," Mandy said, skipping as she tugged my arm. "Let's go have some fun. Exams are over and I heard the amusement park that just opened downtown is sick. They're doing a free trial of all their rides for the weekend."

I hesitated, engrossed in the super interesting e-novel I had been reading for a while now.

"Mandy, I have to finish this novel today."

Mandy snatched my phone, ignoring my protests.
"What book is this?" she says.

"It's 'A Pastor's Daughter's Diary' by Praise Abraham. You should read it too."

"Hmmm... Looks interesting. I will consider reading it, on one condition. You'll agree to follow me to the amusement park this evening."

I rolled my eyes and finally nodded. Satisfied, she gave me back my phone.

After bookmarking the page I was reading, I reluctantly climbed out of my bed.

I took permission from my mom. Mom was more than happy that I would be getting quality socializing time outside the confinement of my room.

I'm an introvert, you see. Reading is my favourite pastime.

I zoned out on Mandy's prattle all through our trek down to the amusement park.

The first ride Mandy insisted we try out was the gigantic Ferris wheel.

As the large Ferris wheel started to turn, I felt my palms go sweaty.

Mandy chuckled. "Girl, don't tell me you're scared."

I ignored her, closed my eyes and gripped the belt so tight.

"Oh Lord, please, don't let anything bad happen," I whispered under my breath.

I opened my eyes and regretted it immediately.

We were now at the peak. I felt my heart leap to my throat.

Why on earth did I allow Mandy to brainwash me to come here?

News flash: Blessing has intense phobia for heights.
Terror made me fear.
