Cassidy

"Just talk to him." said Brittany. "That's ridiculous you can't expect me to walk up to "Derrick Johnson" and talk to him. I can't okay." I said. "Go talk to him now, move." she said.

I shook my head no. I couldn't do it. He was by far the cutest and most talented guy I'm the whole city. Every girl dreams about him, including me. He's the perfect package, except for one thing..... He doesn't even know my name.

We started going to school together in second grade. We were almost friends and then seventh grade hit. He became the all too famous town quarterback and then look at me, the nerdy girl who never smiles.

"Cas" she said. Everyone calls me Cas. It's short for Cassidy" "don't you Cas me I know where you're going with this, and no it's not happening." I announced. I wish I were able to talk to any guy I want to, but unfortunately it's a cruel and ridiculous world out there, and I didn't want to start a war. You see derrick has a girlfriend, Emily Baxter. Head cheerleader, and biggest prep/snob in the whole school. You mess with her territory and you got a lot of Trouble headed your way.

"Cassidy go talk to him." Brittany said. "You know that I can't." I said but before I could finish my sentence I got interrupted. . "Can't couldn't do nothing till it tried!!" she said ecstatically.

Are you on crack? I thought to myself. How do you not understand that I will socially and quite possibly physically die if I step to another person's territory? It's like in the wild. You look around and there's hungry lions staring at you. And then what do you know, you're sitting there wearing a meat suit holding a sign that says "come and devour me."

"No absolutely not. This is my story. I'm going to write the ending. I can't talk to him. So I won't. I'll get him to talk to me." I announced. I sounded crazy. "Ooh good plan, but one thing? How are you going to get him to talk to you?" she asked. Batting her eyelashes as she usually does. "I have an idea, come with me!" I said. We headed off to the mall for shopping! It was an emergency.

"Come on man, were Gunna be late!" Dmitry shouted. "Let me say bye to my girlfriend first." I spotted Emily from across the caf. "Hey babe "I said catching her off guard.

"You scared me". She said," I was just talking about my dress for the formal. I thought you said you wanted it to be a surprise!" "I do, I needed to tell you something." I said while leaning down to her level to kiss her forehead. "What is it?" she said happily.

"I'm going to leave with the guys; can you get someone to call out 'here' for me next class?" I asked.

"Sure, anything else you wanted to say or ask me?" she said. "No that's about it. See ya later. "I said in a hurry. "Yo man she looks pissed." Dmitry said.

"I don't see why? I didn't do nothing to her. "I said "Ya I don't know but you might wanna figure it out before ya lose your girl." he said as he pushed on the door.

"Let's roll." I said opening the car door. "Yo this car is tight!" Dmitry said. "Why didn't you drive this thing before?" "I just got it." I said.

I started up the engine and it sounded perfect. I made a deal with my dad. If I could help us when the last four games of the season, I'd get a new car. "Hey man where do you wanna go?" I asked. "I don't know man, let's go to the mall I gotta get my mom a birthday present anyways." he said.

We pulled up to the mall about thirty minutes later. Dmitry dragged me to forever feminine. It's a store full of girly crap. I'm so glad everyone was at school and didn't see me right now. "Hey man what you think of this?" he said holding up a green shirt. "It's alright man. I think she'd like it. "I said.
