Chapter 8

*sorry I haven't updated alot for the past few days because of finals. I just got out of school and I'm hoping I can keep making more good chapters for you guys to read. Well I hope you all enjoy**

Owen had assigned me to watch over some dinosaurs. I was given the task to drive around in a jeep in the enclosures and just make sure everything is alright. As i drove in the jeep i still got the edgy feeling Owen is trying to keep himself away from me.

I sighed and kept going at the constant speed around the area. The sounds of birds. My hair kept getting in my face so I stopped for a moment to pull it into a pony tail. I sighed and looked up. It was really a beautiful day today honestly. Today felt...odd almost. It felt like one of those days that something bad was going to happen you know?

I shivered at the thought if something bad was to happen. I got back into my jeep and was suprised by a loud roar. I instantly turned to my right to see nothing but large trees and birds flying away quickly. I wonder what that was. I quickly drove off and rode along a herd of gallimimus's. If you thought about it they were like fatherless ostriches. They're genus of ornithomimid theropod dinosaur from the late Cretaceous period Nemegt Formation of Mongolia. With individuals as long as 8 metres, it was one of the largest ornithomimosaurs.

They weighted 500 pounds and ran at least 30 mile per hour. They were harmless but if you got in there way they would trample you. They made small noises and kept running as if this was their normal. They were like a light brown with very faint yellow stripes. I always wondered what it was like to feel that freedom. To just run and do whatever you pleased without being weighed down by the harsh world.

As i separated u eventually got past the gate and headed to the hatchery. I went to see Leo almost every day as i could. He was still my small little guy but grew big every time I saw him. I laughed with Dr. Jeen because I would tell him I felt old. As i pulled up to the hatchery I was walked in and smiled brightly to my little Leo. He squealed and waddled over to me.

He thought of me as his mother more than a care giver and it made me feel all happy inside. I giggled and picked him up.

"Now who is my big boy! " I exclaimed and tickled a soft spot on his belly.

It seriously looked like he was laughing right now. I sat in a rocking chair and started to rock him back and forth. A nurse near by handed me a bottle of formula and i began to feed him. As soon as he fell asleep the nursery's door opened loudly. A giant security guard busted in with at least five more behind him.

Dr. Jeen had the look of horror on his face. I felt literally glued to my chair. A woman with short red hair walked in taking off her white gloves and didn't bother to look at me.

"Where is the egg?" She asked boldly.

"I'm suprised you came here this early." Dr. Jeen said shaking almost.

Why was he scared?

"I'm told you I wanted another male and female. These hybrids need to be born before next month!"

Hybrids? It was illegal to make a hybrid dinosaur of any kind! No wonder Dr. Jeen was scared. What ever dinosaur they made was sure as hell not friendly. I quietly made my way to another room without them noticing. Leo yawned in my arms and i prayed they didn't hear.

"Yes well there very close to hatching soon. The adult female will have to learn how to cope with the new additions. "

"Yes well she has been alittle nuisance on my part. We lost another man to her today. " the woman sighed loudly.

"What happened this time?"

"He was fixing the barbed wire and happened to not notice her. I swear if there is another death i might get fired!"

"You might get fired?! I'm the one risking my career to make this monstrosity!!" Dr. Jeen yelled.

"Fine but I need those eggs soon. " She said loudly before leaving.

When it got quite Dr. Jeen sighed.

"Come on out Liv. "

I slowly made my way back into the room to see it was empty of all its staff. I had so many questions in my head I couldn't see straight.

"You heard huh?"

"Yea." I said nervously. I bit my lip unsure if I was supposed to know.

"What was that all about though? A hybrid? Adult female? A death? What is going on!?" I asked holding tightly to leo.

"Look even if i did tell you it wouldn't help you. If they found out that you knew they would kill you."

His hands were deeply in his coat pockets and his head was looking down.

"I still need to know! "

He sighed loudly. He looked at my with sincere eyes before starting.

"For a long time they had tried to make hybrids of all types. Some made it but not for long. Most had died because they're bodies had a hard time coping with illness. They gave up until they found a tyrannosaurus Rex could have some genes replaced by half of the carnivorous species. It was incredible but not as incredible when we made an egg."

"it was a miracle. Until it hatched and wasn't the thing it was supposed to be. It was literally the devil himself that hatched from that egg that day. When she got maybe a few weeks old she killed for the first time. We left her in nursery care with 5 nurses. When we came back there were limbs everywhere and blood stained everything. "

Tears were falling down my cheeks.

"We couldn't keep her in nursery and made her own enclosure. She has the most death count here than jasmine. This female is called Indominus rex. She was concocted from a Tyrannosaurus base, with a mixture of other deadly carnivores shoved in. There's a dash of Carnotaurus, a hint of Madagascan hunter Majungasaurus, and a sprinkling of Rugops. And because that wasn't terrifying enough, we simply had to top it off with a dollop of Giganotosaurus, a predator second only in size to Spinosaurus.

"All this adds up to a man-made dinosaur that measures in at a length of 40 ft! She is a pure breeder monster that I helped create!" He yelled out.

"It wasn't your fault! You didn't chose this!"

"I helped make the monster and now they wanted me to make two more! I've basically made everyone's death sentence here!"

I held Leo in my arms tightly. This was my little baby and i would protect him with my life.

"Who was that woman? " I asked.

"She is Ms. Clair Daring. The manager of the entire park. It was even her idea to make this hybrid. "

I thought about my options for a fee moments. Then something got to me.
Did Owen know? I mean he had been here for a while.

"Does Owen know?" I asked.

Jeen looked at me then his face made a giant frown. If course Owen would know carnivores were in his area. Ugh I'm such an idiot! I placed leo back into an artifical nest.

"I'm going to figure things out for a while. "

That was the last thing I said before i left.

**well I tried to make this alittle more like Jurrasic world but kept my character the same with my story. I really do hope you guys enjoyed this. I really had a hard time making this a good chapter. Please leave comments if i have to improve the book. Ok thank you all!!***
