As I drove up to the restaurant where everyone was meeting, I couldn't help but get a little bit nervous. However I had to put on a brave face and shake it off. I had no idea what to expect.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by a woman with a smile on her face.
"Hi I'm Allison, Rob's assistant! I've heard so much about you and I'm so excited for you to meet everyone! Would you follow me please?"
"Oh, sure!"Wow. This girl was friendly! As I was escorted into the room, I realized how nervous I actually was. I felt like I was going to throw up!
"This is your seat!" Allison said. In front of me was a seat, and a name plate, reading
Y/n Y/L/N-Ariel
I took my seat, and realized both seats next to me were empty. Am I early? No I can't be, there are lots of other people here...
I read the two nameplates next to mine. On the left:
Melissa McCarthy- Ursula. No way. There's no way I'm cast alongside Melissa McCarthy.
On my right:
Jonah Hauer-King- Prince Eric. Hmm never heard of him..
I sat down anyway, anxiously awaiting my castmates arrival. A few moments later, Melissa McCarthy sauntered in. When I caught a glimpse of her, I was shocked that she was actually here. I felt my face freeze up but I quickly snapped out of It when I realized I was staring! When I finally snapped out of it, she was much closer than I realized.
"Hi! I'm Melissa, and you much be Y/n! I've heard such good things about you from Rob!"
"Oh I-um-well Um Its such a pleasure to meet you! I'm a big fan!" Those were the only words I could manage to get out. How embarrassing.
"Well then, I'm very excited to be working with you!" Melissa responded. After that she began talking to the other people around her. I sat in silence as I waited for this Jonah person to arrive. I began thinking:
Woah. Im going to have to fake being in love with this person. That's crazy. I hope that he's cool. That would be great. What if he's not? What if he is like a douchebag or something?
Suddenly someone walked in. He was easily noticeable, as most everyone else had already walked in. It took a second before I realized:
Oh. My. God. Is that him? No there's no way. He's so- wow. What do I do?
As he got closer, I could see more of him. the dark curls, light eyes, and the DIMPLES. The perfect face.
I was so lost in thought that I barely heard him begin to talk to me.
"Hello!" I heard a distant voice say. I got out of my head and actually looked up at who was talking to me. Oh my god it's him. He's so tall.
"Oh um, Hello!" I responded.
"It's lovely to meet you. I'm Jonah."
"And I'm um- um.."
"Y/n. her name is Y/n." Melissa answered for me. She gave me a pat on the back and a smile before turning away again. Wow, she really felt like a mom.
Jonah let out a soft chuckle as he stuck his hand out for me to shake. I froze. It had also just hit me that he was British?!?! This is a dream come true oh my god. I was so lost in thought that it took me several seconds before I realized I had to shake his hand. I frantically took his hand in mine and shook it. Could I have spazzed out any more?
We both sat down and while Rob began talking to everyone I couldn't help but hear his voice fade away and several thoughts come into view. Why were so many of them about Jonah? I tried to clear my mind of those thoughts but I just couldn't .They kept coming back. Y/n what were you doing? You have a boyfriend! Stop! But I just couldn't. I couldn't even focus on what was happening outside my mind. I was completely focused on Jonah and I had no Idea why. I almost missed my cue to introduce myself to the cast. However once I heard Melissa introduce herself, I snapped back to reality just in time to NOT make a fool of myself.
"Oh Hi everyone! I'm Y/n and I will be playing Ariel. I'm really excited to be working with all of you." Everyone clapped ,which was surprising.
Jonah went after me. His voice was mesmerizing in a way, in a way I couldn't explain.
"Hello everyone I'm Jonah! Pleasure to meet all of you and I'm excited to be here surrounded by amazing actors!" Such a gentleman.
After that I was a little more in tune with reality. After the initial conversation with everyone, we moved on to lunch. Surprisingly, Jonah immediately turned to me and began speaking.
"So Y/n, have you done anything like this before?"
"No, this is my biggest project actually. I haven't been in much actually, just an occasional second or third tier role here and there."
"Same here! Well no matter, I'm really excited to work with you, and I'm really excited to get to know you better. Could I get your number?" He said.
I happily exchanged numbers with him. Our conversation went on for much longer, speaking about things such as our favorite Disney films, the audition process, our characters, and so much more. It felt so easy to talk to him, for some reason. He gave me a sense of safety and comfort while talking to him. After the lunch was over, he walked me to my car, and we parted ways. About 30 minutes later I received a text.

Hey there. Would you want to get lunch
somewhere, sometime?
Y/n
Yes of course! That sounds great! Meet me at the
sandwich shop on Vine Street tommorow?
You won't miss it.

Sounds Incredible. Wouldn't miss it. See you there.
My stomach filled with excitement As I waited with anticipation for tomorrow. Later that night, I did some research on him. Ok so he's a BBC actor, with a few other projects. Wow he was in Little Women? His internet resume was pretty impressive. That just made me even more excited for the day to come.
