After living through another torturous hot day, I was finally amidst the cool night breeze. Waves crashed on my feet, leaving a serene sensation I had been craving the whole day. Trees talked to each other over the wind. Flowers bloomed on the beach where they weren't supposed to. Watermelons and mangoes and coconuts and grapes, they were all present in the feast laid out for me.

I felt like I was in a land of fantasy.

But in reality, I was sitting on my balcony, listening to my friend rant about her day. She was all I needed to let the worries of the day go.

She was, after all, my summer escape.
