August

"Babe?"

"Yeah?" She looked over at me.

"You coming with me to get Aug?"

"As much as I'd love too, I too tired." She sighed. "You get him and I'll have dinner ready time y'all get back."

"Aight." I approached her.

Cupping her face, I stared at her. Giving me a smile, I couldn't help but smile back.

"You're getting bags underneath your eyes love."

"I've noticed."

"I don't like this."

"You doh like plenty things." She joked making me laugh.

"I like you." I smirked.

"Yuh have a choice?"

"After you put a spell on me, nah."

"Me? You're the one who was singing spells sir." She laughed.

Pulling her closer, I gently kissed her. Blushing, I knew I had caught her off guard.

"Let me go get our son. It's been a week."

"I can't believe we managed that."

"Right." We laughed.

Walking me out, she locked up as I got into my car and left. The week was up as Kevin was heading back to Atlanta tomorrow and though I knew Chrys wasn't emotionally there yet, we had to pick up and keep moving with our life.

We had closed on our new home the same day we did the walk through. Hearing that we were paying cash, and their asking price, the owners didn't want to wait so all the papers were drawn up and we signed off on them yesterday. Between then and now, majority of our things were packed up and tomorrow we would be moving in.

Where our house was concerned, it was up for sale. Asking for slightly less than what we had paid, I honestly just wanted to get it off our hands. Chrys was right when she said she still felt a heaviness even though we smudged and smoked it out, I felt it as well.

After driving almost an hour to Kevin momma's house, I called him as I pulled up in front the gate. Opening it, I drove in and parked as it closed.

"Hey dad."

Greeted by my son, we hugged before we walked back to the house. Entering, I greeted everyone as he ran back outside.

"I take it he ain't ready to go?" I laughed a little.

"He was just about to get into the pool."

"Oh, well I'll give him his time." I nodded. "He wasn't too much this week right?"

"Nope. He was just a sweetheart. He helped where he could upon asking and was just so well mannered and pleasant."

"I'm happy to hear that. Me and Chrys really be trying." I chuckle.

"Well y'all are doing just right."

"Thank you Mrs. Cox." I smiled.

Excusing myself, I made my way to the back yard. Taking a picture of our son jumping into the pool, I sent it to Chrys, letting her know we'd be a while. Getting a reply saying 'okay', I sat on the lounge chair and just relaxed.

"You want anything woe?" Kevin asked.

"Sure man."

Tossing me a beer, I caught it and let it settle before opening it. Grabbing one himself, he came and sat next to me.
