The Alpha Night Fury

The Training

A couple of weeks later....

"Here you go Jade" Hiccup said as he
handed her a saddle. I growled as Jade
tried to put the saddle on my back.
"Easy girl, I'm not gonna hurt you" Jade said trying to calm me down. As much as I
liked her, there was no way I was letting
her put a saddle on me. 'Training' me was
one thing, a saddle was another. To me
having a saddle put on was like putting a
collar on a dog, it is a sign you own it.
And I did not want to be owned by
anyone. I growled and bared my teeth.
Jade put the saddle down and I calmed
down a little. "You really don't want a saddle, do you girl?" Ruby asked. I puffed
smoke in her face in response. "Hiccup,
we're going to ditch the saddle, she'll
never take it" Jade called out. "Okay, let's
just go for a nice simply flight then"
Hiccup said. Jade approached me and
climbed onto my back.
"Ready for a little
flight?" She asked. I spread my wings
Having a human on my back was
annoying, but at least It gave me the
opportunity to map out the island to plan
my escape. "Ready!" Jade called. Hiccup
opened the door and I took off. Hiccup got
on Toothless and flew behind us. "Take
her along the course Snotlout and the
twins set up" Hiccup called out. Ruby
turned my head and I flew in that
direction. We went around the whole
island and I took in the layout of it. We
landed by the arena. "I think she's ready!"
Hiccup said smiling as he and Toothless landed next to us.

Everyone got up early the next morning.
Apparently we were going on some
journey of sorts. We flew to a nearby
island called Dark Deep. It was a dark,
craggy island with little plant life. There
were many caves and pools of lava. The
island was filled with Gronckles,
Whispering Deaths and other Bolder Class
dragons. We had lunch at the island and
arrived back at Dragons Edge in the
evening. "That was amazing. Such a nice
day out" Jade said and everyone agreed
Jade looked back at me and patted my
neck. "Great job girl!" She told me. "Jade,
I can officially name you the rider of this
Night Fury. She's all yours and you're her
rider. You know what's best for her and
you two definitely have a connection"
Hiccup said as he shook Jade's hand. Jade looked back at the arena then at me.
"Astrid can I borrow Stormfly?" Jade
asked. " Sure, but why?" Astrid asked with
confusion. "You'll see!" Jade said as she
ran off. Jade came back with a rope a few
minutes later. She tied one end of the rope
around Stormfly's neck and the other
around mine so we were attached. "Now
they can wonder around the island together" Jade said. "Good idea!" Astrid
smiled.

I lay on the cliffs with Stormfly next to
me. "Better then being locked up an arena
right?" Stormfly asked. "Much better!" I
told her. I looked up at the star filled sky.
It was so nice to see the sky clearly
without having bars above me. Toothless
climbed to the top of the cliff and walked
over to me and Stormfly. I flattened my
ears, me and Toothless had been trying to avoid each other since I had kind of tried
to kill him. So many times I had wanted to
go and sort things out, but I had been
trapped in the arena until now. "I'm just
going to... you know..." said Stormfly as
she slipped her head out of the rope and
flew further up the cliff to give us some
privacy. "Hey there..." said Toothless as he
sat down next to me. I took a deep breath
and sighed. "I'm so sorry that I tried to kill
you. I don't know what came over me. I
was just so mad about everything that I
just-" "Hey, it's okay. I know it must have
been really hard for you. It probably still
is" Toothless said as he crawled a little
closer to me. "Can you forgive me?" I
asked him with big soft eyes. "Of course! I
love you and I could never stay mad at
you" Toothless said as he looked at me
with a slight glimmer in his eye. I purred
softly and rubbed his head. "So we're soulmates again?" I asked. "We always
were" Toothless said softly as he nuzzled
my neck. Toothless lay down and put his
wing over me. I smiled and cuddled up
with my soulmate.

"Toothless!" Came a distant yelling from
Hiccup. I opened one eye then shut it
again. "Come on bud, where are you
now?" Hiccup continued calling. I opened
both eyes and blinked a couple of times. I
looked over at my soulmate and rubbed
his head gently waking him up. Toothless
groaned. "Your annoying fishbone is
squabbling about trying to find you" I said
with a lazy grin. Toothless got up and
looked over the side of the cliff then
started laughing. "He does that sometimes.
So still not a fan of Hiccup?" Toothless
grinned. "He's not that bad..." I found
myself saying reluctantly. We both looked at each other and bust out laughing.
"Glad to see you two have made up" Stormfly said as she landed behind us. We both grinned. "Look he's up there with
Stormfly" Astrid said as she walked past
Hiccup. "Toothless, buddy, how on Earth
did you get up there?" Hiccup asked as he
spotted his dragon.

"Okay Jade, bring her around" Hiccup said
to Jade who was sat on my back. Jade
leaned to the left so that's where I flew.
"Very nice! Now land her by the arena and
that's it for today" Hiccup said smiling. As
much as I hated to admit it; it was actually
fun being around Jade and I liked her.
After training we meet the gang and the
humans had dinner. "So have you thought
of a name yet?" Snotlout asked impatiently.
"Oh, oh, ohhh, I have some great suggestions!" Ruffnut said jumping up.
"Yes, me too! Like Blackie, Death,
Sour, Charcoal.." said Tuffnut as he waved
his hands around. "Or Candy, Plague,
Muddy, Thor, Noir, Shady Lady" Ruffnut
joined in. "Or better yet Oreo, Velvet, Cha
Cha, Blackberry..." Tuffnut suggested.
"Wow those are all... really great
suggestions, but I've already found a
name" Jade told them all. "You have? Oh
that's so great, what is it? What is it?"
Fishlegs asked. Ruby patted her leg and I
trotted over to her side. I was almost
excited to see what name she had found
for me. "May I present, Blackrose!" Said
Jade as she stroked my head. There were a
couple seconds of silence. "I think Black
Plague is better" Tuffnut said as he picked
up his pet chicken and started stroking her
feathers. "Im afraid I must agree with my
brother" Ruffnut said with a sigh. "Blackrose is good too I guess" Snotlout said with a shrug. "Guys, guys, guys.
Blackrose is a good name, nice choice. I
remember when I got to name my little
baby girl" Fishlegs said hugging Meatlug.
"Ugh, gross" Snotlout said as he stepped
away from Fishlegs. "Blackrose is awesome!" Astrid said putting a hand on
Jade's shoulder. "Great choice" Hiccup
agreed smiling.
