Fire.

It always starts out like this,
A nonchalant hug,
An innocent kiss.
And then I catch fire,
Burning everything in sight,
I can't get enough,
And you can't get out alive.
You consume me,
And I can't get breathe,
This love is going up in flames,
Burning hotter from the breeze
Of other people's approval,
Or lack thereof,
Telling us we can't,
Shan't,
Be in love.
But we are,
And we will,
And it matters to us not.
I'm climbing every tree,
Searching under every rock,
To find more and more about you,
So we can keep this up,
Finding every reason,
For us to stay in love.
And sometimes it works,
And others not so much.
And this wouldn't happen,
But I care just enough,
To try to keep this going,
For as long as I can,
Because you're the spark I need,
And I want to be your man.
But the thing about fire,
Is the pain of being burned,
You didn't know not to touch me,
And that's a tough lesson to be learned.
But after I burned you,
You turned to me and smiled,
Saying, "oh baby, I'll be with you for a while."
And I guess that means you like fire,
A pyromaniac,
I can't and I won't complain,
Because you keep on coming back.
And I've never loved a body,
As much as I love you,
And I know I've said it before,
But babygirl this is true.
So let me keep on burning,
And I'll provide the heat,
And you can burn yourself,
All you want,
As long as it's with me.
