Illicit Liaison (A Romakota AU)

Gagged him a bit... for sure.

Dakota breathed out softly afterwards.

He thought to himself, "I can't wait to see the look on Mr. Todd's face once he hears me later." Meanwhile, Roman asked, "Is Mr. Ari Koyote here?" Ari raised his hand afterwards. Then, Roman said, "Now, let me call on Mr. Dante Martin for attendance."

Roman failed to get a response from Dante.

So, he said, "I've got two absent students so far... I'll also come back to Mr. Martin later." After clearing his throat again, he continued speaking, asking the class, "Do we have Mr. Joey Mills inside this room?" Joey opened his microphone and blurted out, "Good morning, Sir. I'm here." Roman proceeded to take Joey's attendance shortly afterwards.

All of a sudden, Dakota started sweating.

He said to himself, "Oh, God. I'm next on the list. Here goes nothing." Roman then asked, "Is Mr. Dakota Payne here?" Dakota cleared his throat before opening his microphone. As Dakota unmuted, he said, "Hallo, Guten Morgen! I'm here, Mr. Todd."

Dakota quickly muted his microphone.

Meanwhile, Roman was visibly taken aback by Dakota speaking. He thought to himself, "How on Earth did Dakota know about my German lineage? And the way he spoke to me sounded like German's his second language. Let me ask him about it."

So, Roman cleared his throat again.

After coughing softly, Roman asked Dakota, "Herr Dakota... Sprechen sie Deutsch?" Dakota gulped nervously and suddenly muted his microphone. He started sweating and thought, "Wait... How am I supposed to tell Mr. Todd that I do understand what he's asking me, but I don't know how to respond to him back while speaking German?"

Dakota sighed softly.

When Dakota didn't respond quick enough, Roman replied, "I guess that silence meant no." All of a sudden, Dakota opened his microphone and said, "Well, I can speak a little German, Sir... I'm not good at it yet, though. I'm on German for Dummies level."

Dakota chuckled before turning his microphone off.

Roman nodded slowly and said, "Alright. Well, thank you, Mr. Payne. Next on my list is Mr. Adam Ramzi. Are you here, Mr. Ramzi?" Adam raised his hand. After his attendance was taken note, Roman said, "Now, I wanna know if Mr. Tannor Reed is here."

Roman failed to receive a response.

So, Roman blurted out, "I'll wait for Mr. Reed's response once I'm done." The class gave out thumbs ups shortly afterwards. Then, Roman asked, "Is Mr. Steve Rickz here?" Steve opened his microphone and said, "Hey, Sir. I'm here." Roman then replied, "You've got an edgy surname, Mr. Rickz." Steve laughed softly and said, "I get that a lot, actually."

Steve then turned his microphone off.

Roman then proceeded to ask, "Now, may I know if Mr. Cody... uh--- If you're here, Mr. Cody, please help me pronounce your surname." Cody opened his microphone and replied, "My surname's pronounced 'say-ya', Mr. Todd." Roman nodded slowly and told him, "Alright, thank you for clarifying, Mr. Seiya. Your attendance is hereby noted."

Cody proceeded to turn his microphone off.

Then, Roman said, "Let's now move on to Mr. Cyd St. Vincent. Are you here, Mr. St. Vincent?" Cyd raised his hand. Afterwards, Roman asked, "Could I know if Mr. Mickey Taylor is here?" Mickey also proceeded to raise his hand. Roman then said, "We're down to our last couple of students in the class list. May I now know if Mr. Noah Way is here? Mr. Way?"

Roman failed to receive a response.

After that, Roman said, "Now, let's hear from the last student in my list. May I know if Mr. Alam Wernik is here?" Alam raised his hand. Once Alam's attendance was noted, Roman spoke once again, saying, "Now, let's go back to the students I didn't hear or see reactions from earlier. Let's go back to Mr. del Ray? Are you finally in the room?" Michael left a message on the Zoom room's chat box, saying, "I'm here, Mr. Todd. I'm sorry for not responding, as my Internet's unstable."

Roman then took note of Michael's message.

While marking Michael's attendance, Roman asked, "What about Mr. Graham?" When Addison failed to respond again, Roman said, "Well, then. I'll be marking Mr. Graham as absent for today's class. Let's move on to Mr. Martin." Dante raised his hand, opened his microphone, and said, "I'm here, Mr. Todd. I, too, have an unstable Internet connection."

Roman nodded slowly.

Once Dante's attendance was taken note of, Roman asked, "Is Mr. Reed here now? Could I get a response?" Tannor left a message on the Zoom room's chat box, telling Roman, "Hello, Sir. I'm here. There was a sudden power interruption in my area."

Roman proceeded to take note of Tannor's message.

When he was finished, Roman said, "Last call for Mr. Way. Are you here now, Mr. Way?" Noah failed to respond again, so he was marked absent. Roman then said, "Now, before we truly start our class for today, I've got one thing to tell all of you..."

Dakota and his class felt confused.
