It's been two months since I was here in New York and a month since I started working at the bookshop. And everything is going more than well. My life has changed drastically in a good way.
A few days ago I told both of my brothers about my job at the bookshop and they weren't happy but then like always they accepted it. I didn't like hiding it from them, so I told them, and also Caleb came to New York, so it was a given that he would come to know of it anyway.
So it was better to tell beforehand rather than them knowing from someone else. He also met Mr and Mrs Smith, after which he was relieved. He didn't push me to quit after meeting them, so it turns out to be good.
He stayed for two days and then he went back. He was missing me too much and wanted to make sure I was doing fine here, which I was. Its not like I dont miss them, I do more than anything, but I also like living here...
Apart from Hunter, everything is good here in New York, but thankfully, I haven't seen him for one month. 'The last time I said that he was in front of me the next moment so this time I don't want to jinx it'. I shrugged the thought away.
He is so weird and intimidating always finding ways to sacre me or bother me, but I have decided I will not get affected by him this time. What could he do? If he wanted to kill me, he would have already done that.
I made a few other friends Zoe and Sabrina, actually they were Hailey's friends but we sort of got along when one day they came to meet Hailey and since then we have become good friends. Today is Hailey's birthday, and she wanted to take all of us out. I declined at first, but after a lot of insistence, I said yes. She also talked to Mary and promised her that she would take care of me and drop me back too, so at last Mary also obliged.
She came to my apartment at 7 in the evening saying we would get ready together. I was in the room talking to Noah when she came. I said goodbye to him as I saw her coming inside the room.
"Hey!" I said as I smiled at her. She looked around my room.
"Wow, girl, your room is so pretty," she admired, and I grinned widely.
"Let's get ready. we don't have much time," she told me as she placed her things on the bed.
"I don't know what to wear, and you didn't even tell me where we are going?" I pouted as I looked at her. She winked at me.
"It's a surprise, but I know you will love that place. Show me your wardrobe, I will help you, " she said, and I took her to my closet room, which was filled with my clothes. Once she took in my wardrobe, she gasped and looked at me.
"I didn't know you are loaded," she said, and I chuckled at her reaction.
"Wow ... oh my God, " she muttered as she was looking at all my clothes. By the look on her face, I can tell she liked my clothes.
"I love all of them, but..." she paused as she looked at me.
"But?" I frowned.
"They all are too plain and ... modest... " she said, making a face, and I frowned more.
"Is that a bad thing?" I asked her, I love all of my dresses. They are something that I can wear comfortably.
"No... it's just..." she stopped as her eyes fell on something and she smiled.
"This will do!" She said as she pulled a red top and a black leather pants, she paired it with black ankle boots with high heels. She also pulled out a black leather jacket for me.
"Go change into these!" She said as she went out of the room. It was Friday and I had a bath after I came back from university earlier so I changed into my clothes. I also took a day off from the bookstore.
When I went out She whistles as she looked me up and down. I laughed at her, this was something different from what I usually wear. Half of the things in my closet are still brand new and unused.
She has also changed in to a red mini dress and she looked hot. I would never pull off something like that, because I would be too uncomfortable.
"Come I will do your makeup" she said as she sat me infront of my vanity. I usually don't wear makeup. She did my makeup and thankfully she kept it to minimal saying that I don't need lots of makeup as I am naturally pretty. Then she left my hair open in their natural curls cascading down my back.
"You look hot, Babe" she said and I thanked her. Then she did her makeup and I went to my drawer as I pulled out the gift that I bought for her.
"Here. Happy birthday Hailey" I wished her and she smiled at me as she opened her gift. It was a bracelet with a infinity sign on it.
"Wow this ... is so beautifull" she said as she looked up at me.
"I am happy that you like it" I said and then she hugged me. I help her wearing it, then we both git ready and head to her car. Sabrina and Zoe were waiting for us so we hurried.
