Answering the questions to the backstory of these events...Tae has got a MD and PhD (The Doctorate of Medicine and of Philosophy is a dual doctoral degree for physician–scientists) and he applied to be enlisted in Army, so he served in the military, namely in medical department for about 2 years (2 years enlistment contract). Then he decided not to go up career and went home. Apparently Yoongi has also served before and he has connections with the heads of the department of Special Forces, so Yoongi found out where JK served and he called to the department to inform them about a professional medic, and at that time JK's unit needed a medic because they needed professional medics. It was the first and the only opportunity for him to see his ex.
