Chapter 14

"I want you to stay with me tonight." Ethan said as they drove home from Baskin-Robin's.

Dana gave out a small laugh. "Can't get enough of my company, huh?" She teased.

He looked in her direction and gave her a small smile before turning to look back at the road. "Exactly."

"We'll plan something for the weekend."

"Tonight, Dana." Ethan had tried, but he couldn't stop thinking about the text he had received. He wouldn't bet his life that the text was from William, but he wouldn't disregard the fact that there was a possibility either. As far as Dana was concerned, he wasn't about to take any chances.

Dana couldn't help but frown a little at Ethan's sudden idea of having her stay over at his tonight. "But we didn't talk about this."

"Don't tell me we have to deliberate for an hour or two for me to have you stay over at my place," he joked.

Dana smiled. "No, not for an hour or two. It's just that...I am not carrying a change of clothes. I have to work tomorrow."

"That's a problem that can easily be solved. I'll drive you to your place. Grab whatever you need."

"Okay." After thinking for a few seconds, she thought that this would give them another opportunity to spend some extra time together and get to know each other. It didn't sound like a bad idea. Maybe Ethan felt the need to spend some time with her too. He said he wanted to be sure when he got into a serious relationship. Maybe this was his way of making sure that this is what he wants.

So the next hour was spent getting to Dana's place and then driving to Ethan's once she had everything she needed from her place for the night and the next day.

"You can use this room," he said, opening the door of one of the 3 rooms in his apartment. The lights turned on automatically, as soon as they walked into the room, pretty much like the entire apartment. Dana couldn't help but feel impressed.

"I like this automatic lights system. It must save a lot of electricity consumption." Dana commented.

"It does," he said, nodding his head. "Do you like this room? If not you can take the other room. Or you could just stay in mine," he winked as he said the last sentence.

She rolled her eyes at him. "I like this room." She scanned the room and decided that she actually loved it. It had comfort written all over it. From the plush cream pillows on the bed to the well-cushioned chair at the dressing table, it was like her dream bedroom.

"Well, I'm glad." He placed her overnight bag on the bed. Then he took a step closer to her and slipped his hands around her waist. Dana tried to ignore the way her heart did a summersault. This was far too dangerous for her health, she thought.

He bent a little and kissed her cheek. His lips hovered over hers for a moment before he pressed them down against hers. "I want this to work," he murmured.

Dana couldn't help but feel touched "I want this to work too."

"Good," he said, before taking a step back and letting her go. "Let me know if you need anything."

Dana sighed as he walked out of the door, leaving her to gather her thoughts. She turned around to take her nightdress out of her bag while grinning widely. She was sure that she looked like an idiot, grinning all by herself for no apparent reason. But she couldn't help but feel excited about her relationship with Ethan. They were still in the earlier stages but something told her that Ethan Salvay is the man for her.
