*~*~*

I no longer find magic, especially inside this University, surprising. It has led many of the alumni to their destined one. May it have been through writing notes on the desk, writing on the destiny paper, wishing on that pink lake, and all the others, doesn’t really matter as long as by the end of these magical happenings, there will be a happy ending awaiting for them.

Sounds like a fairytale, right? I think so too.

But if the magic surrounding the school’s walls has been a way to create that so called ‘happy ending’ for us and our soulmates, then why does death exists in here? I personally think death is never and will never be a sign of a happy ending. Rather, it is a proof that in this somewhat fantasy kind of world we’re in, there is still a reality in it. And if what Liza and Jazz was true, then maybe, we got it all wrong. Maybe, the University is not as perfect as it seem to be and we possibly can’t have the happy endings we always sought for ourselves.

“What the-” I slammed my notebook close and hastily put it back inside my bag. How could I write something so stupid? Hindi ako naniniwala sa sinabi nina Jazz at Liza. Hindi ako naniniwala! It was so damn impossible! Possibly that crazy woman has been making a story to gain attention from everyone! She’s just obviously jealous since she hadn’t found her destined one and she wants us to suffer the same way she did.

I sighed. Chenee! It’s been a week or so, shouldn’t you stop bothering yourself from investigating even more? I bit my lip and tried to relax myself.

I knew it. It was because of them why I have been so over acting on this matter.

He was beaming at me. “May problema ka, Chenee? Share it to me.”

He smiled brightly, as if he’s never capable of making a sad face. Though some alumni said, he was not this positive until the Golden Book Story #143 happened to him.

“Does everything happening here lead to a happy ending?” It’s the question I had always wanted to ask but never had the courage to.

“Does everything in this world goes the way you want it to be?” tanong niya na dahilan para mapaayos ako ng upo.

“Sir naman, siyempre hindi.” I answered back, slightly bemused by his question.

“Does candies always taste the same everytime you take them in?”
