Melody’s POV: As I was walking around backstage handing out garments that people would need tonight, I noticed somebody was following me. Knowing exactly who it was, I kept ignoring them until they started huffing. Stopping abruptly, the person following ran into me, almost knocking me over and I would have if they hadn’t caught me.
“Why’d you do that Mels?” the person said releasing me.
“For God’s sake Danny, you’re my little brother and I love you but quit following me around before I do something to your trunks that you will not like.” Before Daniel could say anything, I turned and walked off to continue handing everything out. I thought my threat had worked, but nope, Daniel started following me again. I completely ignored him until I got everything handed out to the correct people except for the things belonging to his two idiot friends, Matt and Jeff. Sighing, I started heading towards the JAS locker room. When Danny noticed where I was heading he tried to stop me.
“Will you stop? Seriously Danny, you’re getting on my last nerve. I’m seriously so close to making you a pair of pink trunks and taking your others so you have to wear those.” I told him.
“You wouldn’t.”
“Try me. Now what is so freaking important that you’ve been following me all afternoon?”
“I just missed you. Can’t I just want to hang out with my big sister?”
“You can if we didn’t see each other almost everyday. So, you wanna try that again, and this time the truth?”
Danny sighed and slumped his shoulders, knowing I caught him. Then mumbled something.
“Want to repeat that? I couldn’t understand that.” But before he could reply, his phone chimed. He checked his message and smiled. Danny grabbed my arm and pulled me toward the JAS locker room. “Seriously Danny, I was heading here anyway.” Shaking my head at him, I continued letting him pull me.
When we got to the room I noticed Matt outside the locker room, not thinking anything of it, I opened the door only for Danny to shove me into the room and pull the door shut behind me. It even sounded like one of them shoved something in front of it. I started banging on the door, yelling at them to let me out when I heard a throat clearing behind me. Sighing, knowing exactly who it was that was behind me. I was gonna kill Danny and Matt. Turning around, I faced Jeff.
“You don’t look very happy to see me,” he said.
“I’m just annoyed. Danny has been following me all afternoon while I was trying to deliver stuff. I take it this was his and Matt’s hairbrained scheme?” I asked him sitting his and Matt’s clothes on the bench by the door.
“Yep, does it really surprise you? Though they did one thing right. Look up.” he told me.
Looking up I saw that I was standing under mistletoe. Of course they would do that. Looking back at Jeff, I couldn’t help but smirk. He started walking toward me and when I was in arms length, he pulled me towards him by my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and met him in a kiss. I felt him slide his hands down to the backs of my thighs and lift me up. I felt my back hit the wall and just as he was getting ready to deepen the kiss, the door opened with Danny and Matt coming in. Jeff and I pulled away from each other, but he still had me pinned to the wall. Danny and Matt just stared at us in shock.
“I thought you hated him, Mels? I’m so confused right now.” Danny said, looking between us with a perplexed look on his face.
“Me too. I thought we were gonna hear yelling, but when we heard, we got concerned that maybe she killed you.” Matt said looking confused.
Jeff finally put me on my feet and ran his hand through his hair. We looked at each other having a silent conversation deciding to finally come clean.
Grabbing Jeff’s hand, I held it as I thought of a way to explain my feelings to Danny. Deciding on the truth, I spoke, “I started out hating him, but overtime I got to know him and saw a sweet side of him. It really just sort of happened. He asked me on a date a couple months ago and it went amazing. Jeff asked me to be his girlfriend last month. I didn’t want to say anything to you Danny cause if we didn’t work out, I didn’t want it to ruin your friendship with them.”
Jeff sensing how nervous I was, let go of my hand, pulling me back against him and wrapping his arms over my shoulders. I couldn’t help but calm down when I was in his arms.
“So this whole plan of us locking you in a room together with mistletoe was for nothing?” Matt headed out the door muttering about owing Anna money now. Looking at Danny, I nervously waited for him to say something.
“I understand why you didn’t say anything, but I’m your brother, you should be able to tell me these things.” Danny said, hurt lacing his voice.
Leaving Jeff’s arms, I went over and hugged Danny. “I’m sorry Danny. We didn’t mean to hurt you. Just know he’s treating me right.” I mutter in his chest. Pulling away, I went back over to Jeff and he automatically wrapped his arms around me.
“I forgive you guys for not telling me. Just don’t hide anything else from me. I’m glad it’s you that Mels is dating. Just know though that if you hurt her, I will find a way to hurt you.” Danny told Jeff. “One thing I don’t get is you guys still fought a lot. Was all that faked too?”
“Not all of it. We really did have arguments, but we made up at the hotel those nights.” Jeff told him. I looked up at Jeff, who had a smirk on his face, with a shocked look on my face that he would even tell my brother that. I looked at Danny to see a grossed out look on his face.
“That is something I neither needed nor wanted to know that. I’m heading to catering, enjoy the mistletoe, but not too much.”
“Just know you will be getting a pair of pink trunks and you will wear them for locking me in a room. Even if it was with good intentions. And tell Matt since he was part of this scheme, he will also be getting retaliation.” Danny’s shoulders slumped as he walked out the door and closed it behind him.
I turned around and smirked up at him, “Now where were we before we got interrupted?”
He lifted my thighs around his waist and pushed me against the wall. He brought his face close to mine, “Right about here.” With that he kissed me again and it didn’t take long for him to deepen the kiss. And this time we weren’t interrupted.
