JUNGKOOK POV

"I can't believe you paid that horrible man a million dollars."

Jimin snorted as he settled into the seat next to me on the veranda.

"I would have paid more."

That was insane.

"Do you think he'll really put
the word out about my folks?"

"He will if he doesn't want me to turn that app over to the authorities."

I eyed him curiously. "Did you really put a tracker in his pasta?"

Jimin chuckled. "I did."

"Where did you get it?"

"Jin gave it to me." Jimin pressed his fingers on the side of his watch and then turned the top until it unscrewed.

My jaw dropped when I saw the small space behind the watch face.

"I always keep a couple of
these on me."

"Why?"

"You never know when you
might need one."

"Sometimes I drop them in sensitive paperwork I'm sending somewhere to make sure it gets where it's supposed to be going."

"Sometimes I buy something
and want to make sure it
arrives safely." Jimin shrugged.

"Different reasons."

That seemed a little weird to me but I can't say it was wrong, It had certainly worked in our favor.

"Do you think Jung is
going to let this go?"

"I do." Jimin said. "He has no reason to pursue it."

"He received a million dollars for a fifty-thousand-dollar loan."

"He got the original sum back plus a shit load of interest."

"He also knows what I can do if he thwarts me."

"It's better for all of us if he just forgets who we are."

"You don't think he'll be pissed that you fed him a tracker?'

Jimin snickered. "Oh, he's plenty pissed, He just doesn't know what to do about it."

Honestly, that unsettled me.

"I don't like the idea that he might try and come back at us sometime in the future."

"If he becomes a problem, I'll turn the app over to the people who can do the most with it."

"Maybe you should do that anyway."

He shook his head. "As much as I would like to see him behind bars
I have to stay true to my word babe, The way we keep him off our backs is by honoring the
deal we made between us."

That made a weird sort of sense but I still would have preferred him behind bars.

"Think of it this way."

"Say I go against my word and turn this app over to the authorities and he gets arrested"

"He's at the top of his organization and there is nothing to say one of his people wouldn't come after us or even one of his business associates."

"If I honor our deal, he'll see
that I really meant it when I said I just wanted him out of our lives and hopefully, he'll leave us alone."

Okay but I had one more worry that needed to be put to rest.

"Can you get into trouble for giving him a million dollars?"

"No."

My eyebrows lifted in surprise. "No?"
