Before I Forget

Chapter 6

** COREY'S POV **

She fell asleep, so I kissed her good night and quietly left the room. When she came out of the bathroom, I had a hard time controlling the over-whelming urge to push her down onto the bed and take her right there! That woman had to be sex-incarnate!! We had a nice conversation before she fell asleep, though.

"She sleeping?" Joey asked me as I emerged

"Yeah." I replied, plopping down on the sofa

"Tell me, what was with the driver's license question earlier?" He asked, cocking his eyebrow at me

"Well, I was thinking." I started out

"Oh God, Corey was thinking? Run for the hills!!!" I suddenly heard Jim laugh

"Oh-ha-ha-ha!!" I said sarcastically

"Seriously, what's going through that brain of yours?" Joey said, steering our conversation back on track

"Would you wanna live where she does?" I asked

"Not really. Dude.... what exactly are you getting at?" He questioned, looknig at me suspiciously

"I just....." I started, having a hard time finding my words, "She obviously needs help."

"Corey, you're interested in a woman?!" Chris exclaimed, eyes going wide

"He is interested in a woman. She's sleeping in his room tonight." Joey replied, smiling brightly

"Oh really?" Shawn said, sitting down across from me

Sighing, I got up to go take a shower. Feeling exhausted from the lack of sleep, I knew it wouldn't be long before I started getting testy with the guys. Especially if they wouldn't drop the whole "Corey's interested in a woman" thing. She was a kindred spirit in need of help, and in need of a family. Could I give that to her? Was I ready for a relationship?

I wrapped my towel around my waist and quietly entered my room. She was curled up in bed, snuggled up with a pillow. The covers had slid down to below her waist, revealing the toned skin of her abdomen. Digging through my bag, I grabbed a pair of clean boxers and my pajama bottoms and very quickly got dressed. She began talking in her sleep, but it was incoherent mumble. She was so adorable when she slept!

Shutting the door quietly, I bumped into Joey who was exiting the bathroom. He just looked at me and smiled. Rolling my eyes, I made my way back to the living room. Shawn, Chris, and Jim were arguing about what movie to put in next when Joey and I entered the room. They all stopped and looked at me, all smiling. Rolling my eyes again, I plopped down in the closest seat.

"So, you're interested in that chick from the tattoo parlor?" Shawn asked

"She has a name." I said flatly

"Ok, but you still didn't answer my question!" He said, knowing I was skating around his question

"Guys, can you give us a few minutes alone please?" Joey suddenly asked, saving me from answering

"Sure dude. I'm getting sleepy anyways." Chris said

As soon as the trio left, Joey turned to me. I knew what was coming but still didn't feel like talking.

"Alright Corey, you have to say it. I know you have a thing for her." Joey said

"If I admit it, will you leave me alone?!" I said, a bit annoyed

"Maybe." He replied wryly

"Fine. I'm attracted to her. Do you feel better?" I said, sighing lightly

"Tell me why you asked her if she had a driver's license." He demanded, but not in a mean way
