This is why I am scared of declaring friends
Because nothing hurts more than weaving a tapestry that'll intertwine your lives
Only for it to become a tangled mess
Because you then question memories
And nothing makes sense
Why waste the energy
If it was all going to end?
This is why declaring trust terrifies me
Because one moment you could be my lifeline
And the next
the one thing that destroys me
How does one handle life
when so many needed parts
are made of puzzle pieces
That are now voluntarily missing?
This is why I am terrified of considering love
Based on everything else above
And the fact that I am too weak of a being
To handle my heart as a broken thing.
